Hi,

I have a small issue, i have a Essay due that seems to have some conflicts in it. Here it is:

In the form of a narrative essay discuss the characteristics of a dramic script state which of these characteristics make the dramatic script uniquie from the novel and the short story.

Demonstrate the use fo a graphic organizer as a means of gathering your thoughts prepare a formal outline for the essay.

I am confused with this question becuase the definition of a narrative essay is a story of an event or an experience, how can you write a narrative essay about the characacteristics of a dramatic script....

I'd say the use of "narrative" in the instructions is a mistake. You are right, it doesn't make sense, so just ignore it and follow the rest of the instructions. If you if have the time, though, check with your teacher to make sure.

You could write a story about an experience of comparing a script to a novel... or writing a script based on a novel... but I think Sean is right! Tell your teacher that a narrative essay is a story! The teacher probably meant "expository."
