Christmas essays - Writing about a childhood Christmas; 2-3 page narrative paper

I am having a really hard time with writers block. I need to write a 2-3 page narrative paper. I can sum up my story, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to describe what I am writing. I am writing about a childhood Christmas. I wake up in the morning and see that Santa Claus has been to my house. I got a Cabbage Patch doll, and from there I don't know what to say. I have about 1 page so far and now I'm stuck.

Good afternoon.

Since you didn't tell what the specificiations for the assignment are and I was not present for the event you are writing about, I'm not really sure how much assistance I can be.

Perhaps you can describe some of the details of the morning. What do the presents look like? What does the home smell like? Who is with you? Did you get what you wanted? What happened after you opened presents? Is there a particularly entertaining story or joke that was told that day that you can remember?

When you're stuck like this, go to your five senses to help you get "unstuck". What did you hear, see, taste, smell, and feel? Choose one of those and go from there.

Good luck!

Regards,

Are you retarded? It's a secular holiday observed Dec. 25.
The rest can be researched and condensed into a paper.

If you are supposed to write a detailed description, then all you need to do is decide at what level you will write your description. If you or your family celebrates Christmas, you could describe a typical Christmas at your house. If not, you could describe Christmas day from the perspective of those of us who endure empty streets, closed shops, and nothing to do on a day when the government enforces a holiday mandated by a religion other than our own. Or, you could describe the Christmas season, with its orgy of consumer spending and glutinous consumption. The possibilities are endless! You just have to decide.

FELIZ NAVIDAD

That's a great topic to learn about, and I think that you can find some good information about this subject. This is the spanish way to say merry christmas. So, you could research where and when the phrase originated (spain, mexico, etc.) and then give a brief history and background on how the holiday is celebrated by this culture. Also, the lyrics of the song have special meaning, maybe you can translate the lyrics, and explain what special meaning christmas has to the person who wrote this song. I wish you luck on your project! :)

Ideas for a descriptive essay about 'A busy christmas street market'

I have been set a descriptive essay to write 6 paragraphs about a busy Christmas street market in 3rd person but I am struggling for ideas so could anyone suggest anything?

The structure for the essay should be:
Paragraph 1 - Opening and general description of the scene
Paragraph 2 - Zoom in on a particular aspect of the scene
Paragraph 3 - Build on the general description
Paragraph 4 - Zoom in on a different aspect of the scene
Paragraph 5 - Again, zoom in on another different aspect of the scene
Paragraph 6 - Add in any extra info you forgot and finish it all off
I have started paragraph 1 already so any feedback on that would be greatly appreciated too, Thanks!

A busy Christmas street market
As the Advent season descends upon Vienna once more, festive stalls line the streets and stall holders call and shout to anyone who cares to listen. Intriguing scents of Christmas spices, hot mince pies and mulled wine emanate from open shop fronts and linger in the crisp winter air.

have been set a descriptive essay to write 6 paragraphs about a busy Christmas street market in 3rd person but I am struggling for ideas so could anyone suggest anything?

Paragraph 1 - Opening and general description of the scene

.... here you can talk about the significance of this scene, its history and other details that you feel can be useful for the reader to have an idea of this market. You need to include almost every aspect that you are going to discuss in the body paragraphs, but very briefly.

Paragraph 2 - Zoom in on a particular aspect of the scene

.... take the first aspect and talk about it.

Ok.... then you've got to write your draft and post it here. Then we can help you with its improvements. You need to have an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion for this essay. In the introduction give a brief account on when, where with whom you spent it. Very briefly. Then go to the first body para to talk about the details of each point you wish to elaborate. Do your draft and post it . I will help you.
