Hello,
Im having trouble selecting a topic for my personal essay. Im most likely going to go with the evaluating the significant experience and its impact on you question.
but im lost with what to right about. one idea is to write about my brother's leaving to study abroad, whose impact on me was huge since we were very close, or when i had to talk in front of 200 people and how it made me more confident.
which do you think is less traditional and more interesting to the admission officers. my friends cant help me decide.
thanks
Good evening.
I suggest discussing your brother's departure and how it has impacted you. You can discuss how your life was before he left (what was good, what was bad) and then how things changed after he left (what was better, what was worse) and, most important of all, how you handled these changes in your life. It will present you as a deeper, more dimensioned person that if you discuss one single faceted event and it's singular impact on you. The other topic allows you to discover and discuss more than one area of impact, giving much more valuable content to your admissions board.
I hope this helps you decide!

[Moved from]: need analysis on a question
Describe your most significant academic experience 100 words
now does this mean like my main subject which influenced my major of choice etc? as in talk about an academic subject?
or school as a general idea and seeing school as an academic experience so anything that has to do with the environment?
i have no idea! need help plz! lol
I would say be as specific as possible. If you have a significant academic experience that led you to your major choice, I would go with that; however, if you do not, I would go with the best, most significant, most specific experience I could.
Significant experience or accomplishment ; Need ideas as how to begin!
Are there any significant experiences you have had, or accomplishments you have realized, that have helped you as a person?
Please give me some ideas how to begin and end this essay question.
What I should not write & what i should write.
what answer and point of views are you going to look for the answer?
Start by making a couple of lists for me.
List the five most important things that have happened in your life. (Don't include your birth!)
List the five most important things you have done.
Keep each item very short.
