HOCKEY is a hard-hitting Sport; "The School of Fight"

One of the main roles that a hockey player knows is when to get aggressive at all times.
With hockey being an hard-hitting sport, it is safe to say that a physical and mental state of mind
has to be on point at all times no matter what the situation. In the chapter "The School of Fight"
taken from Deadspin.com talks about a fight camp that has been recently opened up to teach
young new hockey players how fight when it came down to those types of situations.

According to Duke Prendichuck, father of 13-year-old Tyson's, participation in the fight
camp is for his son's self-protection. "He's gotten into fights in the past couple of years where
has he got hacked and one thing leads to another" (Page 32). Not only is fighting in hockey very
aggressive, it may also lead to many blind attacks any individual on the ice at any given moment.
I think that sending children to a fight camp where they learn "basic fighting theory, how to
throw punches, grapple and the code of ethics" (Page 32) not only improves their self-awareness
but also makes them the "complete player". Why I believe that spending the time and money to
train children how to fight in hockey is because not all coaches were in agreement when it came
to teaching players how to fight. "Most coaches stop short of fighting lessons because they can't
bring themselves to do it or don't know how" (Page 27). Without the knowledge of fighting who
knows what could happen to a player when it came down to it. I say that with the opening of the
camp, not only did it help new hockey players develop the skills of the aggressive sport, but it
also worked under a safer environment in a certain way. In my opinion I would rather have my
child go to a fight camp where they were taught to fight than anywhere else in the outside world.

From my standpoint it is easier to learn about getting into physical contact from training
than actually being outside or in the streets and adapting from that certain lifestyle of fighting.
With the outside world, getting into fights is not only dangerous but can lead you into serious
trouble. There are many factors that come in play when fighting outside including what "rules"
they abide with and whether or not if they are going to stick with the rules. In addition to certain
attacks or "tricks" that comes up. All those factors can really start of at a negative influence for
children. With this camp however, not only is starting everyone at a fair pace, but it also keeps
the fighting environment overall the same. Everyone is at the same pace and same experience
with the camp and with supervisory officials they can lend a hand when there are instances
where things may go wrong. So in my eyes I say yes, that it is worth the money and time to
have children train at a fight camp especially if they want to be better at the game that they love.
If they want to be better players they'll have to start from a certain standpoint, which in this case
becoming a better fighter.
In conclusion if I was in the parents situation I would have sent my child over to the
fight camp as well, knowing that there are coaches who do want to teach kids about fighting and
getting aggressive without any regret or hesitations. When it comes to hockey or any sport that's
just as aggressive, when it comes down to that time players need to step it up because its either
you go hard or go home and with tensions rising on the ice at any given time everyone has to be
ready or somewhat experienced in that situation or else you're pretty much stuck with nothing
but your tail in-between your legs

Few alterations as,
1. Everyone is at the same pace and same experience with IN the camp and supervisory officials WILL BE A HELPING HAND when things may go wrong.

2.In conclusion, if I WERE in the parents situation, I would have ...

Pay more attention on punctuation marks.
Overall,it is a very good essay.

One of the main roles that a hockey player knows is when to get aggressive at all times.

.... this has an issue - roles are generally played and therefore it sounds slightly awkward for me here. Also why you say at all times? ... I guess you better re-phrase this line

With hockey being an hard-hitting sport, it is safe to say that a physical and mental state of mind has to be on point at all times no matter what the situationis

father of 13-year-old Tyson's

father of 13-year old Tyson / 13- year old Tyson's father

Not only is fighting in hockey very aggressive, it may also lead to many blind attacks on any individual on the ice at any given moment.

but also makes them thea "complete player"

You need to pay attention to grammar mistakes here
