Hi, I'm writing a narrative reflective paper and I am unsure of how to write the introduction paragraph.
These are my assignment instructions:
The essays that you have read in Module 1 describe remembered events. Using the information
from your text in Module 1, write your own essay that reflects on a significant event from your
past that involves yourself and at least one other individual. Vividly describe the event and the
details that make the person and the situation special for you. Remember, people and events are
complex. Strive to reflect those complexities in your writing.
I somewhat have an idea of how I'm going to write my paper, and these are my little notes so far:
Topic Idea: Summer 2002, eight years old, running around with Kim (cousin), fell down concrete stairwell with her, I cut open my chin, mom brought me to clinic, doctors glued my chin together
Exposition: (background, problem, characters, setting)
Summer 2002 hot day
Kim and I were bored
???
Rising Action: (what we're doing)
An hour later, pool was filled, sprinklers out
Playing outside on the patio with water toys
Running around, ignoring adults
Climax: (turning point)
Kim and I fell down a flight of concrete stairs
Falling Action: (going into solving problem from climax)
Went to the clinic, got glued up
Conclusion:
Returned home and ate chicken nuggets
Any help in how to approach this is appreciated. Thank you!
