If you are sacked because of policy violation in a corporation that you worked 15 yrs

You have had either wasted 15 years of your time or their time of the corporation that you worked for, no matter what now you are kind of screwed! The very next job that you are going to apply will ask you this million dollar question, " why or how did you leave your previous job?"

I want to hear experts opinion from hiring point of view, what really are you trying to learn from this question knowing the fact that the applicant was terminated because of a policy violation. Will you hire this applicant regardless of a policy violation in the past?

I'd try to find out what exactly the 'policy violation' was. Was it related to the job itself, or maybe only loosely related to the job? If it was related to the main job, I'd think twice if I want to hire this person; otherwise, he/she should be ok to hire..
