General scholarship essay - what I should write in this?

My school gives out many scholarships; however, I do not know how to start my essay since the required essay is so general. Can you all give me an idea of what I should write in this essay. Thank you!

"Briefly state why you believe you qualify for a scholarship. (500 words). (Note: You are not applying for a specific scholarship--applicants are matched based on scholarship criteria such as financial need, scholastic merit, and leadership/involvement)"

PS: I am a third year student and major in accounting

First ask yourself why you deserve this scholarship. You could begin with talking about your interest in the field and how passionately you intend to pursue your studies. Talk about your future goals (both short and long-term goals) Then you can tell them about your constraints such as financial difficulties. Then also tell them how well you have performed in the past, your achievements etc. for them to understand that you are deserving case.
