Statement of Purpose
I am XYZ, a full stack web developer working for a XYZ based employer's startup as Lead Web Engineer and Project Manager. I am writing to express my interest in applying for a Direct PHD.
Since childhood, I have always been fascinated by computers and till today I have never got bored of computers. In my bachelor final year, as per university requirement I need to submit a project and I start looking for ideas. One of my relatives was physically impaired and had difficulty seeing in the dark. This intrigues an idea in my mind. What if a mobile camera could be used as Human Eye. I discuss it with my supervisor "XYZ" which help me polish my idea and I build an android application using different 3rd party's APIs like Google Text-to-speech, Google Vision, and Google Assistant etc. The app was voice operated and can click picture and tell using speaker what the camera sees. This project got national recognition and granted a Award from IGNITE by Government of Pakistan. It was just a prototype, but this idea sparked a burning desire to do something in the field of Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence, and Computer Vision.
During my job, i handle various kinds of tasks from processing barcode, QR code, image enhancing and slightly image processing. Despite my job not being focused on computer vision, over 4 years, my desire to do research in this field has only intensified because of my education background. I started exploring for the graduate program and KFUPM caught my interest because of two reasons. First, the university offered Direct PHD program which not only help me boost my career growth drastically in the field of research but also help me to work on exciting projects. Second the King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals curriculum which offered the program in 4 study tracks. And the track of Algorithms and Applications aligned perfectly with my career aspiration and goals. This program covers the topic of Algorithms and Complexity, Advanced Machine Learning, and Digital Processing.
Moreover, I have learnt an especially important thing in my professional career is that technology has been evolving at rapid speed and to ahead from others needs knowledge from experienced of the field. As AI, Machine Learning and Computer Vision is a very emerging field and making a good career in this requires a Professional degree from an accredited institute. This motivated me to study and do deep research to get a strong grip in these fields.
Moreover, I have read some of research paper's of Associate Prof Hamzah Luqman related to Computer vision which align perfectly with my career intentions, and i strongly believe working under the Esteem faculty of KFUPM not only help me grow in the field of research but also help me to get ready for the future challenges.
I am a good fit for this program because of my career inspiration, education background and my work experience. In the long term, I wanted to become an industrial researcher and wanted to use the technology for welfare. Please consider my application for this Funded opportunity and give me chance to study, research and grow.

4814 I do not really read any information that would tell me that you are qualified for a direct PhD certification. You do not have the research background to qualify for this type of certificate. Your skills are not as advanced as required for this program. Stating your background stemming from your childhood is not really of benefit to this paper. Your competitors will have far more advanced and relevant exposure plus they will have actively pursued being published research authors to qualify for this program. Your skills, background, and exposure are not as advanced as the reviewers of this application may require. You need to strengthen your research skills because as a PhD student, you will be expected to contribute your own research insights to the team you will be assigned to. There is no evidence that you could function in such a highly intellectual and technical setting within this presentation.
