1)Our most successful MBA candidates have identified their professional aspirations and can clearly articulate them. Being as specific as possible, tell us: What career path have you identified for yourself? What experiences have helped prepare you? What relevant skills have you already acquired? (500 word maximum)

It is one of my favorite activities to identify problems and solve them. Since childhood, I pursued a full range of learning to expand my knowledge and skills. In addition to satisfying my self-curiosity, I like to help others solve problems. This gave me a sense of accomplishment and helped me grow. As a consequence I was prompted to choose Sociology as my undergraduate major in the XXOOUniversity. From the academic training, I knew how to look into social situations in perspective and learned how to analyze social issues with a view to find solutions.

As I was also interested in economics, I took a number of economics courses in the college days. I was fortunate to take Microeconomics from Prof. Show-ling Jang. I greatly admired her research in industrial organization. In addition to teaching a variety of models, Prof. Jang put emphasis on understanding basic principles which helped better comprehend everything built on them. Among the subjects she taught, I was most interested in analyzing of the market supply and demand, and in using simple models to investigate complex consumer markets. The class helped me build a pretty solid knowledge of economics and learn practical applications of economic models. I performed very well for it. In addition to Microeconomics, I also took a course in Macroeconomics to further consolidate my economic background. I look forward to applying these learnings at your school. I also believe that the good judgment and communication skills I have developed will be of great help to gain the knowledge and skills I need and to successfully complete your program.

As for my work experience, I serviced for nearly two years as an HR specialist at OOO Company. With it, I gained real-life human resources experience as well as had exposure to experience in other areas. My supervisor always asked his subordinates to make their own proposals. He also allowed new employees to participate in large projects. I thus had the opportunity to take part in a project of restructuring of Beijing branch. I was tasked chiefly with figuring out local Chinese laws to estimate costs and assist in negotiation. This project gave me good training in communication and negotiation skills, and the assignment came to a successful conclusion. Also, I was responsible for improvements in workflow procedures, including developing, upgrading and modifying the SOP and the HRIS system, which included improving our staffing system. In this project, I gained a more in-depth understanding of staffing and other HR-related issues. Overall, I had a rich and varied experience.

After completing my MBA degree, I hope to undertake a temporary internship in the US to gain practical HR experience and sharpen my leadership skills. I will then return to Asia and enter a large-scale consulting firm, providing companies with effective and beneficial recommendations and services. In the long term, I plan to open my own HR consulting firm and provide professional consulting services tailored to Taiwan's industry needs.
