MOTIVATION LETTER
"Scientist investigate that which already is
Engineer creates that which has never been"

Dear Madam/Sir,
I am writing this letter for my pursuit of MSc in Mechanical Engineering in XXX.
Ever since from my early childhood, I used to fix things no matter in right way or the other. Sometimes, it was a perfect match while some time a wild goose hunt. I was always curious about the amazing stuffs. From simple toys to flying machines. This paved the way of my future, providing the food for my analytical brain to grow and sharpen. As I grew up, I did not stop fixing things, even my friends desktop computer's Central Processing Unit, CPU. However, most enigamtic were those flying machine, I came to know it is a science of Aeronautics and I decided to be one. So after my high school and 10+2 (Pre College) I pursued BS in Aeronautical Engineering from XXXX, without thinking of any else subject. It was a great experience being in different country and knowing different tastes. Since I was so passionate about it, I completed with ease and with a good Cumulative Grade Point Average.
Mechanical Engineering is the mother of all Engineering. It is the highway where all other engineering meets. Aeronautics, System, Space, human body, automobile, robotics you name it. It is the broadest subject of Engineering. I currently work as a lecturer and a trainee in XXX Airlines. I joined Inflight International Institute of Aeronautics (now The Aryan School) in Kathmandu as a part time Lecturer of Aeronautics just after two months of graduation in January 2010. It was a wonderful experience teaching young students and answering their queries, since I was the sole and sovereign guide to their problems. In those days, I got more interested towards Mechanical Aspect of machine. As per as the job aspect in South Asian region primarily in Nepal, Mechanical Engineering is the best option to take it as a career.
Working in XXX Airlines in Engine and Airframe Department added up in this event of looking career ahead in Mechanical Engineering. It is the only subject closest to Aeronautics and the field where we get to work with different departments under the same roof. Armed with Bachelor degree is just not enough in today's competitive world. You need to be equipped with the arsenal of higher degree and experience at the same time. Aeronautics and Mechanical go hand to hand. In fact, I can see myself as an Aero Mechanical. Since, I do not want to get away from my passion but looking overall finally, I was convinced that my post graduation studies could not be better than Mechanical Engineering.
After deciding the subject, the hardest part was choosing the country and the University. I always dreamt to visit Europe some day. And, what would be better than completing post graduation in Europe. It is full of vibrant colors, multi cultural, highly technological and International standard quality education. I was looking for the country with pleasant weather all year long. Netherland caught my eyes located near Germany, Belgium and the beautiful North Sea. Moreover, English is widely spoken.
Netherland has remarkable bilateral relation with my country Nepal and is one of the active countries constantly helping us. In the words of XXXXX located in the brain port of the Netherland was the first thing that got my attention. When I researched, I found out that XXXis one of the world's leading institutes handling research work and providing range of subject from Bachelor in Science to Professional Doctorate in Philosophy and Engineering. In addition, XXX is an international university specializing in engineering science & technology, contributing through excellent teaching and research to progress in the technical sciences, to the development of technological innovations. Meanwhile it has collaboration with other renowned university to set up a standard in world's technological stage. The graduates from XXX have been absorbed by leading companies as well.
Living in Europe and continuing higher study is hard especially for the students coming from small under developed country like Nepal. The country lacks highly skilled, trained professional Engineers. There are very few who prefer in pursuing post graduation specifically in this field. Scholarship is the only way to come across and be able to complete the studies. Therefore, I would also like to keep my strong candidacy for the scholarship.
Being slightly from a different field makes it more challenging to me. Moreover, I believe I have made the right choice. Therefore, I would like to request you to grant me this opportunity to complete my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I would also like you to know that after my completion I am looking forward to complete my PhD as well.
Thank you.
