Master's of Science in Public Health
Public health involves qualitative and quantitative approach to address various health related issues in different parts of the world, and not limited to Nigeria where I come from. A country that has one the poorest public health management and policy.
I never had any interest in pursuing my master's study in public health but my passion for the program got develop with my personal experiences from different hospitals where I have been admitted due to ill-health. I observed the poor management policies in the hospital, the poor sanitation and indifferent attitude of medical practitioners to the infrastructures of the hospital. What even increased my interest my interest in public health was my interpersonal communication amongst women in the capital city of my state on antifemale genital mutilation sensitisation program organised by a non-nongovermental organisation which I participated in. I came to the understanding that lack of adequate information about the implications of some acts or customs contributes to high spread of disease and mortality rate in Nigeria, and the global community at large. My final conclusion on pursuing my program in public health was , though painful but positively increased my interest in public hello was the death of my three aunt's of which two died of breast cancer and the other one died of leukemia at the age of 26 years in addition with the recent death of my uncle who died of prostate cancer. I have come to realize after intense research that cancer is a global health issue which raises a red-flag and most be attended to.

Master's in public health in the university of New Haven has a world-class curriculum, and implements the integration of practical application of coursework through real-world experiences. I am interested in university of New Haven to gain a first-class education, gain leadership skills, and evidence-based-decision-making and innovative mindset, and competency based education. University of New Haven is not only only an institution that teach public health but that which do public health.
With the experiences as the research coordinator of my research group under the supervision of my university research supervisor, and the personal development I have garened in understanding public health policy, global health, climate change and health , environmental impacts to public health and anthropogenic activities to public health from different organisations including Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, Erasmus +, in addition to my courseworks in virology, public health and epidemiology, environmental science and immunology from my university, I believe I am fit for the rigorous courseworks involved in master's program in your prestigious university and contribute to the department and as well learn a lot from the faculty and the university. I will work towards addressing the issue of cancer and other related Infectious diseases in Nigeria and the world at large by understanding the nutrition, environmental, and other related factors to health problems.@Vickspring
