South Korea- a country where tradition and modernity are in harmony - my SOP

Hello everyone. This is my first post and I really need your help to correct it.It's so urgent.

1. Why do you wish to study abroad and what factors led you to this decision? What do you hope to gain from and what do you anticipate will be the impact of your experience abroad?

I got my bachelor's degree in computer software engineering in fall 2013. Actually I wanted to apply for animation field in one of the Korea's university because of the South Korea great reputation in art fields. Because I could not apply for the winter semester I decided to take a hilarious chance of learning Korean language and culture. Accepting at this program will definitely be an opportunity to become directly familiar with language and cultural facts in this country. I have been grown up in a country full of historical glories, ancient sites, and legends which persuades me to explore these in other countries especially in South Korea that has more noticeable history-related events and sites.

What I hope to get from studying in South Korea is to get familiar with almost any fields especially arts and creative fields in South Korea. That will help me decide I am fitted in what fields in Korea. Especially I can search more about animation field directly. Also studying abroad is to better understanding people and their life trends and traditions, recognizing self personality better, and learning how to live independently.

2. Describe your study abroad program. What factors led you to select this program and length of study?
Honestly I thought these kinds of programs are only for summer. While I was searching in South Korea's universities, I found this program which I found it so helpful for my future plan of studying in South Korea. Obviously learning a language from its natives is much easier and faster than learning it yourself or in language institutes. So the regular program offers enough time to learn Korean from professional professors and tutors. Besides during the terms, everything is about learning Korean and culture; So, exploring Korea's beautiful historical and modern sites in order to learn about them, making many Korean friends and trying to speak Korean natively by having conversation with them, are both fun and a part of the program.

3. Why have you chosen your country of study? What factors led you to select this country?
The reason that I have chosen Korea is that it is an advanced country with high technology and deeply rich culture which I have found it attractive to me and I am so curios to learn every single detail about it. Another reason is that South Korea seems to be supportive for careers which are an important factor for foreign students especially those who know Korean. South Korea is a country where tradition and modernity have joined harmoniously, which can help us develop the leadership and insight necessary to lead humanity towards a better future. Furthermore, considering facilities like scholarship, dormitory, part time jobs, and employment after graduation, I think South Korea is a wonderful place to study, live, and work. Also South Korea has the four seasons just like my country which is so great for me.

As I said above there are lots of things that I love to do in South Korea and make unforgivable memories out of them. In addition to course works, I love to learn more about South Korea martial art especially taekwondo, do volunteer activities, help South Korean learn English if they are at a lower level than me, and many other things.

All in all, I think South Korea is a perfect place for me to continue my education and because of its international environment, there is a chance to learn a lot. I look for somewhere to develop my intellectual, cultural, spiritual potentialities, and to chase my dreams of study in South Korea.

Hi Kuroko,
I have read your essay. The grammar and structures are OK. However, after I read it I cannot remember a thing. It seem like any other common essays. Can you remember of a special occasion that made your mind to study in Korea. May your childhood memory...

Also...
In addition to course works, I love to learn more about South Korea martial art especially taekwondo /why/, do volunteer activities /you can do it in other countries, why SK/, help South Korean learn English if they are at a lower level than me, and many other things. /I think better eliminate this one./

You should consider that this is only my opinion. So you to decide whether to change it or not.
And I wish you a good luck.
