People needs good environment to make their life healthy. In our town, we have very clear instructions that no one can pollute the environment. Every year, we are roping 1000 numbers of plant on the Earth day. Even, we don't have any authorities to cut down any tree without informing the concern department. If require to cut any tree/plant, then there would be 10 numbers of new trees has to be grown. We can say, within 5 years, our town would be one of the greenest city in the world. We can make our environment pollution free by increasing greenery.
There is already a ban on plastic bags in our town, however, still some people are using it under the nose of lawmakers, which is again a problem. We are already educating people about drawbacks of plastic/polybags through various road shows, free workshops, seminars. We are confident that one day everyone will aware the value of pollution free environment and that day our town would be a more beautiful and greener place to live in.

the topic is beautiful and I presume it has to be written about the things you are doing differently than others, I noted the second para spoke about the problems with people using plastic bags.
You can talk about
1. organic farming
2. use of public transport
3. older vehicles not used.
4. people prefer walking.
5. focus on cleaning.
6. lesser use of fertilizers etc

People needs could change to people need. or may be instead of first sentence write " A clean environment is desired for a healthy life."
Wow! It seems you have a great place to live. Well, I think the idea of a good environment is just not about plant trees, although it good thing to start, but we need to make it bigger, it not just in the individuals levels, but it need to upgrades in the company and global level.
