Undergraduate / fit essay for fashion merchandising fall 2010 [5]
hello everybody! this is obviously not done yet. please let me know what i should add or take out i really need all the advice i could get thankyou:)
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." The most influential fashion designer in the world said this quote, which was Coco Chanel.
My fashion obsession all started as soon as I came out of the womb. I can clearly remember the days when I was as young as two years old getting ready for pre-school. My first decision in the morning was to figure out what I was going to wear that day. Obviously this was my favorite part of the day because I had the ability to use my own creativity as a child. It was usually the decision between my hot pink stretchy leggings and light-up white Velcro sneakers with my famous pink Barbie sweatshirt that I wore days on end or the black pleated apple dress with my black and red strapped dog shoes and, of course Barbie always ruled over because Barbie is the quintessential style icon for all toddler girls.
Years passed by when I finally get the opportunity to visit one of the fashion capitals of the world, which was Italy. I was in third grade and only nine years old but this was the time that changed my life. As soon as I stepped out of the airport I remembered seeing all the designer stores. It actually shocked me how one person, could create something so amazing. I wanted to know the process of how an idea could actually become someone's reality and how I could someday be part of that. Ever since that trip I've been trying to make fashion my future. By watching "The Rachel Zoe Project," she has clearly inspired me into becoming a stylist to the stars. Her passion for fashion also started on a trip but to Paris when she received her first Louis Vuitton purse. Now, that I'm a senior in high school my dream will soon become my reality.
