Letters / Complain about a mobile phone problem letter [2]

You have bought a mobile phone in a tax-fee shop just a few days ago and it doesn't work properly. Write a letter to the manager to complain about it and ask him to solve the problem.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Hugo Rosa and a few days ago I bought a mobile phone in your shop situated at Lisbon airport when I was on a weekend travel.

On the day I arrived home the mobile phone screen turned black. This problem prevented me from reading text messages that I keep receiving, seeing who is calling me (which can cause me some nuisance) and also searching for contacts to make phone calls. I can only call to someone whose number I know in advance.

I am writing to you complaining about this problem and requesting you an address to send the damaged phone to. Also, I will be waiting for a new mobile phone which you will send to me for replacement of the damaged one. To prove that it is still in warranty time, provided by law, I send attached to this letter a copy of the receipt.

I know that you understand my position and hope you handle this situation with care. I will be waiting for an answer from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
«ME»

Writing Feedback / IELTS Taks 2 - People resist to changes in their lives/ Problems & Solutions [4]

People naturally resist making changes in their lives. What kind of problems can this cause? What solutions can you suggest?

It is a fact that, at present, people tend to be accommodated to their life, to their daily routine. We all know that routines give us some comfort and stability which we are always looking for. But, on the other hand, the unknown of new things or new experiences may also origin the sensation of insecurity or uncertainly.

Nowadays, our society demands to have economic stability in our lives so, everyday, people are looking for a lifestyle that can bring up that feeling. With that gained stability during their life span, people may start to feel afraid and fear from any kind of change.

Indeed, as we can see in our society, people feel insecure when they try to change for a new job. They don't know if they will make new friends or if their new boos will be. Also, they feel insecure because they think they aren't good enough for that job position and they do not want to fail and make mistakes. For those reasons, people tend to stay away from new experiences in their lives.

However, from my point of view, everybody needs changes in their lives because we all need to feel that we are alive and we have a purpose in our society. To solve this issue of having fear, I think people should start to have changes step by step. For instance, people should start with little ones, such as visual change or changing their home decoration.

These little changes should encourage people to find other kind of changes, bigger changes.

I am sure that little changes in a person's life can keep away from fears and awaken the joy of new experiences. It is usual to have fears but people must fight them and not to feel trapped by those feelings.

It seems to me that your essay is great. However, I don't know how your essay is evaluated. I'm only focused on IELTS structure and I'm aware of any other kind of enlgish test.

Nevertheless, as I said before, I think you have achieved your task achievement.Try to think more and use more linking words to improve the cohesions of the text.

Tip: don't forget that you write the first person 'I' with capital word ;)

Research Papers / 'Diabetes Mellitus' - a research essay on Diabetes? [40]

Your outline seems great for me!

As ah_zafari said, you should compare among 3 states, maybe the states with more incidence on diabetes.
With a line graph you can compare with more then 3 states so it is a good choice.

If you'll need any help on any kind of information about diabetes and medications and theirs usage, feel free to post any further questions

Good luck on your write
