I have to compare something in the books. please help im not very good in english. thanks

By the way, this is what I have so far. not much because I cant really find connections.

In Fear Nothing and LOTF, characters have developed and evolved when faced with challenging situations. They have overcome their weaknesses in order to survive. They have also used their weaknesses as advantages.

Book Reports / The important of soliloquies in Macbeth [2]

Hi, for my Macbeth summative, I have to write an essay about the importance of soliloquies in Macbeth. So far I have created a thesis: 'The important of soliloquies in Macbeth plays a significant role because they reveal important aspects about the characters such as upcoming plans, fears and emotions.' I would gratefully appreciate if someone can help me with this by creating some example topic sentences, supporting details or even quotations from the play. Thanks a lot.

Undergraduate / "Life can be full of many obstacle and surprises" - Admission essay [5]

I need help on my admission essay to UF. Help and critique will be greatly appreciated. Dont be afraid to be harsh! :)

Here's my topic:
How will your individual background, experiences and personal identity influence your educational pursuits and your contributions to the campus community at the University of Florida?

You may wish to reflect on the following:
Significant life challenges or personal circumstances
Exceptional talents and outstanding achievement
Educational aspirations
Personal and/or family responsibilities

Life can be full of many obstacle and surprises. It is not always the obstacle that we have been faced with that defines us, but rather how we overcome it and what we become from it as a result. This is what makes us distinctive and unique. The obstacles that I have faced and overcome helped shape me into who I am today.

Not too long ago, my dad had lost his job due to the collapsing economy. He has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and jobs in his position are hard to find. He was unable to find a job near our home in Toronto, leaving him no choice but to leave the country and find opportunities in America. Living away from my dad was like trying to swim without a lifeguard. He had always guided me and given me advice. Family had always been our top priority; we put each other before anything else. This made living apart an uncomfortable task.

After almost a year, my dad had found a business opportunity in Florida, and as a desperate attempt to restore our lives to what it once was, we moved. It was our only chance at the time to live together as a family. The decision to move took me by surprise, even though it was obvious that we would have to move eventually. I had just finished my sophomore year of high school and continuing my education in a different country might be difficult. I knew there were going to be many challenges that I would have to face and ultimately overcome.

The transition was not very easy, but I soon made some new friends and adapted to the American culture. I began helping out my parents with the business as I became familiar with the new course work in school. I used to go straight to them after school only to find them exhausted after a hard day of work. I felt that it was my duty to help them because of all the sacrifices they had made for us. Seeing their struggle to overcome adversity opened my eyes to understand the difficulties of everyday life. I now look at the world through a whole different perspective. Life is not carefree; you have to work hard to play hard. Just like my dad always said, "Work today and play tomorrow."

My parents always stressed the importance of education and commitment. Growing up with this mindset shaped my work ethic and helped me maintain my grades as in this transition. I had always tried my best in school, but simply to please my parents. I now realize the significance of an education; which is why it is my priority to achieve nothing but academic excellence. This is what drives me in my quest for perfection.

Please help me out and thanks in advance!

Writing Feedback / The Effects of Violent Movies [9]

It needs to be longer and you should add more details. Also, expand on your ideas. You got some good points, just explain further and break it down into paragraphs. Its not really in essay form.

Essays / I don't know how to start my essay.. [13]

Just basically break everything down and do it step by step. Itll be easier instead of just sitting down and trying to write the whole paper at once. Good luck!

Essays / "Ambition" essay - how to start it? [14]

I agree with gacesaa. Many historical leaders, such as Napolean and Alexander the Great, used their ambition to drive them into succeeding their goals. Good luck!

Book Reports / Comparison Essay: Killers in The Green Mile vs. the Killers In Cold Blood [4]

I assume most of you guys have already read these best-seller novels. For those of you who haven't, In Cold Blood is written by Truman Capote and is a non-fiction book about two convicts who killed a family in Kansas. The killers are Dick and Perry and the novel focuses on their past history and what made them criminals. They are realistic criminals because they actually exist!

The Green Mile, written by Stephen King, on the other hand, is a novel which takes place in a penetentiary with different types of murderers. Some convicts in the story are: Delacroix (raped little girls and then burned them down to hide evidence. He killed five others in the fire), Willy Wharton (commited numerous crimes, natural trouble maker, shot many civilians, raped girls), Chief (killed a person when he was drunk at a bar), Arthur aka The President (convicted of killing his father in an insurance-fraud scheme) and another woman who killed her husband becase he cheated on her.

My assignment is:
How do Stephen King's fictional characters (killers) compare to Truman Capote's depiction of real-life killers, Dick and Perry? Does Stephen King create believable killers? Consider the level of violence and the nature of each crime. Use specific examples to support your analysis.

Thanks a lot! This site has always been a great help.

Book Reports / Comparison Essay: Killers in The Green Mile vs. the Killers In Cold Blood [4]

I guess I kinda forgot to put my question on lol. I was wondering if someone could help me come up with a thesis. I couldn't come up with any points. I was thinking to compare Delacroix with Perry and Willy Wharton with Dick.

Just wondering, have you read the books Sean? If so, do you think that the killers are believable?
