Writing Feedback / toefl - independence from parents, or living with family? [7]

The man's freedom was always a cause worth fighting for. Even in the smallest communities like the family, young members seek one day their freedom. The right timing for this action is a matter of controversy. Are young adults able to jugde when this time comes? Are the parents able to leave their strong sentiments behind and let go youngsters so as to make their own beginning and set sails for their own life?

One of the key positions of child psychology is that parents should have a role of a moderator and guider in the upbringing of their child. They should be able to be by their side and support them while leaving them free to explore their possibilities and characters.

When difficult situations arouse parents should be protectors giving advice and love without taking away their acceptance of their childs'choices and actions. Such situation would be the child's need to live on its own and make a new start. When young people are not brought up ideally, then they may not have learned themselves and trusted their strengths and possibilities so as to make choices of their own. At these situations they seem to linger more than usual in their parents protection and support never trusting themselves strong enough to live their own life.

On the other hand there are situations where children are not ready to go practically or mentally and flee by themselves without having their parents consent and support.

There should be a medium solution for these matters. After well judged discussions and communications young people should demonstrate their parents and themselves that it is the right time to go, that they are strong and able to support economically their actions and that they are confident to act on their own. Parents on the other hand should listen and give consent although it may be difficult to be deprived of their childrens' companion.

Scholarship / Help Children; QUESTBRIDGE C Prep SCHOLARSHIP/ Why Medicine? [3]

I'm sorry but all of these I have read and heard of again again. I would like to see more of your soul. Could you be more personal? Talk honestly about what drove you into medicine. Give an example. Something from you life that drove you there. Give more sentiment.

For instance, "I was puzzled to make a decision for my future. Trying to decide who I am and what my character impels me to follow as a carreer something unexpected happen..(some incident..) I realised that I was happy helping people and conrtibuting to others' wellbeing. "

But again this is only my opinion..

Writing Feedback / TOEFL; Keep your old friends or form new friends? [3]

Friends are valuable for the majority of people. Friendships are formed firstly in childhood and their importance is recognised by science. Types of friendships vary so are the numbers of them from times to times. Whether or not it is more important to keep your old friends than it is to make new friends is something subjective to circumstances and character changes.

Childhood friendships begin in a time of passions, excitement, creation of characters and are somehow irreplaceable. It is difficult people to form such strong bonds as they did in their young innocent years. As if people lose their ability to trust people so blindfoldedly once and making ten times as difficult to acquire people that would belong to their close friend circle.

Nevertheless, people change due to various factors. When they finish their college studies, work and luck of time makes it more difficult to withhold some friendships or maintain their quality. Later on when people get married and have children responsibilities and luck of time are accompanied by change of needs. Thus, strong adolescent friendships could alter in strength and dynamic.

Sometimes, due to the above reasons people have the need to create new friendships. Old ones seem to be inadequate to fill newly recognised wishes. Of course, having new friends don't necessary exclude maintaining the old ones. Good organisation of time and good will could include everyone. As long as the qualities of frienship are met: mutual affection, sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other's company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one's feelings, and make mistakes without fear of judgment from the friend.
