Essays / Essay about sex trafficking - what to argue and what points to make? [6]

Argumentative essay on sex trafficking; Need Ideas for the start

As part of our unit this semester, we have to write an "argumentative essay", i.e., a research paper. I chose to research human/sex trafficking, and then narrowed in on sex trafficking. I have good data regarding how victims are taken, what their demographics are, the laws in place to counter sex trafficking, and plenty of examples of victims and sex traffickers. I also polled people over whether they were aware trafficking was a problem in the US, what they believed it to be, whether they thought legalizing prostitution would help stop sex trafficking, and what they thought we could do to end sex trafficking in general. My only problem is that I don't know how to start writing my thesis. Once I can get a general idea of what I want to do with my essay, I can write the rest, but I don't know how to start. Do you have any ideas as to where I could start looking for a stance to take? Thank you!

Essays / "What is Memorial Day, and what does it mean to me?"; Need ideas [4]

If you knew anyone who served in the army, or gave their life in the army, you could talk about how Memorial Day is your way of remembering and honoring them. It would make for a good personal connection. Or if you don't have anyone like that, you could just talk about how Memorial Day is important to you because you think our soldiers deserve to be honored. Hope that helps a little. :)

Essays / Annotated bibliography; Need help to find sources [3]

If you're having trouble with the MLA, look up "The Owl at Purdue, MLA", and also look at easybib(.)com. OaP can help you figure out how to cite sources, and easybib will actually create the citations for you. It doesn't matter if you don't have a thesis statement right now; that comes later, *after* you've done your research. For now, just look up a bunch of sources that talk about chivalry or hubris. I know chivalry was a big deal during medieval times, so maybe search up a book/website/etc. on medieval customs and look up chivalry as a subsection in it? Also, don't be afraid to go to a library and ask the librarian for help. They will be more than willing, and can probably find you relevant sources within minutes. As for the annotations, they're the easiest bit. They should be a few sentences long. In the first sentence or two, summarize what the source was about. In the next sentence or two, describe what you used from the source. In the last sentence or two, highlight how this source impacted your essay, and how your essay has become better because you used this source.

Hope this helps. :)
