Graduate / pursue MBA - its an essay about myself ..i m weak in vocabulary. [20]

i think i`d better review fundamentals of essay writing for you. it may help.and i suggesr you at least skim some books about improving witing skills.

in writing essays there are some rules. although there are not strict but if you follow them the chance of geting lost in the meanwhile decreases

1.PLAN
1.a)understand the essay topic,
1.b)write a thesis statement, and
1.c)organize your thoughts with concept maps.
2.WRITE
2.a)state opinions,
2.b)write topic statements,
2.c)write supporting details,
2.d)write a conclusion, and
2.e)use syntactic and semantic variety in your essay.
3.REVISE

Graduate / "dreams drive men of purpose" Personal_Statement_PhD_Mech engineering [2]

here is it. i think there are lots of problems. specially the sentences does not seem to be smooth. the introductory sentences is copy-paste. i like the "dreams drive men of purpose" so much.

It is said that "dreams drive men of purpose". Remarkable achievers have always been driven by a simple goal, to make a difference.

My entire educational career has been spent in the most prestigious organizations and academic environments of my country. But I always remember the moment in my second year of guidance school when I was assigned a bonus homework in which I and my classmates had to write a special computer program. My teacher told us that in his entire years of teaching; only one student was able to write that computer program. Being a curious, persistent person who truly believes that "just the impossible is impossible", I started to work out on the assignment. Although writing computer program was one of my enjoyable interests, at the same time it was very challenging for 12 years old boy to run a complex program on computers correctly. being successful on accomplishing the homework, gave me such great confidence in my abilities that I came to believe that interest, tenacity and will power can pave my way through any goal in my life.

Having a great desire about the world of physics and mathematics, I was assured that a career as mechanical engineer is best suited to me. During my undergraduate study I had carried out different programming projects on various field of mechanical engineering including heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Also enrolling in diverse courses provided me a great chance to enhance my experience in different areas and find out the capabilities of a mechanical engineer. Acquainting with micro/nanofluidic during my graduate studies, I found it a combination of all my interest. As the first encounter, it was very surprising to realize that all the regular laws of flow will break down when the geometry dimensions shrinks to nanoscales and, what`s more, just the complex, exquisite Boltzmann equation was enough to model the motion of all particles being in the existence. I was literally the first student and a pioneer in my school whose Bachelor and Master projects was in the computational Micro/Nanoflows. Beside all the hardship I had to face, I tried to walk my way and started to learn hot debated topic of microfluidic by reading new books and journals while keeping track of prominent universities research laboratories. Learning the fundamentals of flow physics, followed by different models of fluid simulation gave me an extensive insight about flow physics in nanoscale regions. Aside from my educational career, casual outdoor hobbies like swimming and mountain climbing have helped me so far to keep fresh and I generally unwind by playing some personal favorites on the guitar. I believe in team work, and in my experience being in a team allows you to learn about sportsmanship and improves your social abilities.

I believe that X.X.X has a very strong faculty and advanced research facilities which offers impressive research-intensive programs. Such an academic environment agrees very well with my academic and research interests which help me a lot to fulfill my goals and become a knowledgeable professor to research and develops the incredible field of Micro/Nanoflows. I am convinced that my academic credentials of a top tier education with a strong scientific component, my professional experience in the computational fluid dynamics especially Micro/Nanofluidic, and my personal characteristics such as good communication skills, leadership qualities, and team work attitude make me a worthy candidate for mechanical engineering program at the X.X.X.

Any comment is much appreciated

Graduate / 'domain exposure' - SOP PhD in Mech Engg [5]

just a suggestion. most American readers like the eaasy to look compact.I mean it is better to combine the short paragraphs together to form a bigger one. about 5 paragraph should be adequate i bielieve.

Graduate / SOP - PETROLEUM ENGINEERING [5]

First of all I believe the lenght of the essay should be reviewed. as for SOP, readers expect a 2 page essay. this is not fix but to me, i have seen the SOPs to be lenghty. there are lots of valuable examaples in this forum.

some grammer mistake i noticed:

believe this would be the greatest factor I have required for achieving my

detailed research and thorough analysis. The (dot should be ommited)

and as the last paragraph the sentences are very short. try to connect them with connectors like Moreover, in addition, what`s more, besides, thus, therefore, etc.

Graduate / 'the field of Micro/Nanofluidic' - S,O,P for PhD in mechanical engineering [3]

Here is my S,O,P. please correct my mistakes. thanmks in advance. it is prepared for PhD in mechanica engineering

"Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." George Bernard Shaw.
In this essay, I am going to clarify why I have decided to pursue PhD degree in the field of Micro/Nanofluidic and fluid dynamics in the North Carolina State University. My background, inspirations, capabilities and career objectives substantiates my determination.

As a schoolchild at an ordinary elementary school, I noticed that I had a special talent in creating novel methods in solving mathematics and physics problem. Once I remember that my chemistry lab teacher was so surprised by my innovative strategies in processing a chemical reaction, that she asked the principle of the school to award me a prize. Being my talents observed by my teacher, she persuaded me to apply for the best school in my town where the exceptionally talented students were studying. Being admitted there brought me great opportunities along with responsibilities. Studying under supervision of he well-educated teacher, working in the well-equipped laboratory, competing with the best students of my town, all helped me to understand myself, my interests, philosophy of life and my capacity to deal with difficult situations.

Studying at university opened my eyes to new prospects. I could utilize complex mathematical methods in order to perceive physical phenomena. During first two years of my undergraduate study, importance of mathematical modeling for engineers and applied scientists encouraged me to improve my knowledge about computational methods in fluid mechanics. During my undergraduate study, I enrolled in diverse courses and studied the disciplines of fluid dynamic, heat transfer and simulation methods. By taking extra CFD courses, and carrying out programming projects and making use of well-known commercial software during my courses, I achieved an in-depth knowledge concerning the most important computational methods for engineers including FDM, FVM and FEM. Moreover, by doing several numerical projects I became well acquainted with different strategies to articulate common numerical simulation methods into computer programs. Fortunately, I discovered the field of Micro/Nanofluidic, which I found it an integration of all my interests. To choose my way thoughtfully, I discussed my interests with several faculty members, one of whom was Prof. Kamali. He introduced me to some relevant references and leading projects. Having surveyed those materials, I eventually found my way. Now, I know clearly that I am interested in studying and simulating the fluid flow behavior in micro/nanoscale. This has served to sharpen my inclination to engage in active research within this area. Therefore, I tried to simulate the slip flow past a microsphere in a 2D channel, for my B.S project.

It goes without saying that both suitability of graduate program and working under supervision of a superb faculty member who is working on my research interests plays a significant role in achieving my ultimate goal. I want to end by mentioning the fact that diligency, confidence in one's ability and innovation are indispensable in determining one's research and teaching capability. According to my background and objectives, I am certain that I meet these qualifications. Therefore, I request the Graduate Admission Committee to consider me for admission and financial aid.
