Graduate / marketing degree, Q2: What do you hope to achieve? [6]

If you are applying to the school, then I would say what you hope to achieve at the school and then what you hope to achieve in your later life with what you will learn at the school.

Essays / Teaching method. AP English (Literature & Composition) Class Questions [10]

In my college english class, we do a lot of essays, where we rhetorically/stylistically analyze books/articles. We are doing a debate right now on the quality of a novel. We are also in the middle of reading Hamlet right now. Last tri we read Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I don't know if this is the typical method, but I feel like I have become a better writer.

Essays / How to start an admission essay about myself? [67]

Think about what you want to say about yourself. What activities are you in? Do you play any sports? Once you have an idea about what you want to talk, go from there.

Your thesis statement can't just be capital punishment. In your thesis statement mention 4 main points you want to talk about. Then those will be your 4 main points, and you just have to come up with supporting details.

Undergraduate / UNC Essay The Team That Drives Fantasy Football [7]

"One inopportune [...], just one of those ill timed misfortunes and that's all it takes to send my dream team home."

By saying inopportune and ill timed misfortunes, you are repeating the same idea of one thing can make the biggest difference so only use one or the other.

Book Reports / A thousand splendid suns by Khaled Hosseini is a story of two young afghan women! [5]

I think your idea is good, it just needs some tweaking.

Hosseini demonstrates through the persevereance of Mariam and Laila, how the inner strength of Afghan women allows them to endure difficult situations including forced marriages, lack of educational opportunities and and Taliban restrictions.

Writing Feedback / people should try to earn money as much as possible?? [5]

In your second sentence
"people are less like.."
less likely

"because to buy any things on a daily basis"
because to buy anything on a daily basis

Third sentence
"that money is not all things what people need"
that money is not the only thing people need

"there are many things that is more important than money such as happiness, friend and family relation ship."
there are many things more important than money including happiness, friends and family.
Hope this helps. : )

Undergraduate / Common Application Essay (Anti-Semitism) [5]

I really like this. It is really powerful. The only thing I you could change could be when you say

"Although I ignored his crudity,..."
The word crudity seems a little awkward.
Otherwise, I loved your essay.

Writing Feedback / Cheating in School- Satire Essay Help [2]

So I have to write a satire for my college english class, and my teacher didn't give us any length, topic or content requirements, except that it has to be a satire. I'm not sure how to end it or if I need to add more. Hopefully you can help me. : )

College Cheating - Satire

Every fall thousands and thousands of young adults head off to college to gain the skills they will need later in life. How do these young adults gain these skills? By copying peoples' answers, stealing tests, and texting each other the answers. This is definitely how their parents want their hard-earned money to be spent.

Why do we go to college anyway? It's not like we actually learn anything. We go so that one-day when we interview for a job we sound like we actually know what we are talking about. But those four years and thousands of dollars, have they actually taught us anything. No, not really. Sure you can probably write a decent paper, but did you really learn what you needed to so you can succeed in life.

College is a time to be adventurous and explore. So who has time to actually do their homework and study for exams? No one. We want to have the full college experience, including the parties, drunken nights, and the romances. We don't have our parents or our teachers around to tell us what to do and when to do it. So why should we study, when we can wait until the last minute and get the answers from someone who already did the work. Seems like a good plan to me.

Thank You!
