Graduate / 'I chose China' - Masters in Mechanical Engineering Study Plan [2]

Here is my Study Plan / Statement of Purpose for you to have a look at, I am sure you will!

The pursuit of a master's program in Mechanical Engineering is my only choice to go for research with practical approach of 'Mechanical Noise and Vibration' with their applications in high temperature and pressure systems involved in mechanics of manufacturing processes and other systems in industries. For example: diesel engine operating at 125 rpm and directly connected to the propeller. The noise from the propeller is extremely disturbing. A differential gear can be installed between the motor and the propeller so that the motor speed can easily be changed to 75 rpm. The propeller can be replaced by a larger one and the noise is then shifted to a lower frequency, making it less disturbing (1). This approach is purely inclined towards healthier work approach in industrial systems to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency through Mechanical systems' research.

For the last couple of months I was employed in a reputable firm as Trainee Maintenance Engineer, where I felt the need of betterment of giant machines like industrial Dryers, Commercial Spinners, and Boilers due to the utmost level of Mechanical Noise and Vibration. I tried my best to maintain those kinds of machines with better mechanical modification. In spite of that, during my internships in major industries like sugar mills and textile industries, where I saw how these Noises and Vibrations decrease worker's efficiency ultimately leading to less effectiveness and productivity. Since then, I decided to go for higher studies in Mechanical Engineering to study these major facts and to find out how to improve such mechanical systems leading towards better healthier work with maximum productive approach.

I chose China, now over $100bn on scientific research and development, and as many as 1.5 million science and engineering students graduated from Chinese universities in 2006 (2), for my higher studies, Pakistan & China share Centuries old ties, which have steadily grown into a binding bond, between the Peoples of our two Great Nations (3). I am much confident if I am given this opportunity to study in this prime university to enhance my skill sets and to go for the research in this area for future endeavors.

Furthermore, I believe that my industrial engineering studies would assist me in achieving these goals that I dream to make them true in future at your foremost university.

Scholarship / Study Objective - (Master's in Industrial Engineering) [3]

I am asked that
"Write a clear and detailed of your study objectives and give reasons for wanting to pursue them. Describe the kind of program you expect to undertake, and explain how your study plan fits in with your previous education and your future objectives"

Considering above lines, I have written this:

Being as an industrial engineering graduate, I want to pursue Master's in Industrial Engineering with its core division supply chain and logistics. The research that I am intended to produce in future that will be depending upon these general grounds:

- Industrial management in supply chain network
- Maximization of optimum performance through various methods
- Adequate usage of efficiency and effectiveness in logistics
- Minimization of waste level using technical approach

The aforementioned reasons can put up any industry to be competitive and market leader within few periods of time, furthermore, the research will be conducted in supply chain and logistics division that will enhance the regularity of production with ease at optimum level, the relations between the vendors and industry, industry and customers since it depends on logistics network, zero inventory systems to reduce large amount of cost to industry, and other considerable factors.

Since I am an Industrial Engineer, the reason behind joining Master's in Industrial Engineering program stretches me to go beyond the level of classic industrial approach while its applicability is in each and every document of life. In future, that I wish to, I am going to organize the research group, like at IME, ATI Thailand, which will help desirable students to conduct research of their interest.

Most of my friends are doing job since their graduation, but I remained in study because I believe post-graduation will magnify my ambition to conduct research in the foremost field of Industrial Engineering.

For the field of Industrial Engineering, the desire to pursue a master's program through scholarship scheme is my only chance to prove my strong technical, yet analytical abilities that could exaggerate during masters program at your distinct university/institute.

France being as one of the birth giving to this foremost field in late 90's, besides the research level in Industrial Engineering like "Simulation of Production Logistics for Beverage Industry" at ATI, Thailand convinced me to choose this program with specialization in supply chain and logistics.

Industrial Engineering, since its inception in Pakistan, has become one of the fortified fields, apart from its education, and has encouraged the government to uphold and implement Acts like Industrial Relation Ordinance 2010 and other industrial acts are being adopted after realizing the importance of industrial approach to common man.

I chose supply chain and logistics to be my future research area in this field because I felt the importance when I went to different industries during my trainings and internships. The consideration in supply chain and logistics, apart from cargo services or courier services, is at minimum level and yet to be promoted because it is one of the few sources of eliminating spare activities that could lead any industry to its path of success.

Furthermore, I believe, in the future through the tremendous education at higher level, would increase my level of approaching things and getting-things-done efficiently and effectively. Since I did my dissertation on "Third Party Logistics" at Siemens Pakistan Engineering, in which I proposed the paper-less system at every level of work to reduce the level of waste during work procedures.

Pakistan is placed on the list of developing countries, and for her I am eager to do something in the aforementioned field because I see it as one of the pure sources to improve the nation's caliber and enthusiasm using latest qualitative techniques with immense research in this foremost field.
