Luckily enough for me, my favorite book is also my favorite movie. Introduced to me by my Mom when I was younger, The Little Prince is one of the first books I have ever read. It opened up my imagination in so many ways.


My favorite source of inspiration is undoubtedly my Mom. She has always been pushing me to do my greatest and to never give up. I can also look at her as an example because of the many feats she has accomplished.


My weekends are very different from others in the sense that I complete my weekend work, whether about school or not, on Friday nights. I then spend the rest of the weekend relaxing or enjoying my free time with friends.

The compliment I am proudest of receiving is "You're such a wonderful person", from a friend I just met. It doesn't sound like much, but those words meant so much to me since I was so disconsolate at the time.


When encountered with a challenging experience, I normally rejuvenate quickly. I truly believe in the fact that rejuvenation is completely mental and with the right mindset you can refresh your mind and begin working again.


The uniform policy at my school is self-contradictory. They say not wearing a uniform is a distraction in the workplace yet, when someone doesn't wear the proper uniform they are put in the office until the end of the day.


I have been a part of a club that focuses on assisting underprivileged students. And just like I have done before, I would like to aid college students that aren't able to get textbooks and other supplies, by starting a fund.

Throughout my life I have encountered many situations that have formed the person that I am today. I began my life in a small apartment on the outskirts on Miami, Florida. I have lived in this cage for almost 10 years now and almost nothing has changed. I share this apartment with only my mother and my younger brother. Being an older brother has taught me a great deal about being an example and about responsibility. My younger brother, quite honestly, can sometimes be very difficult to deal with. I sometimes believe he enjoys being mischievous since he's always lying and misbehaving. Even though he's always trying his hardest to test my patience, the worst part about him is his will to not do homework. Since my mother is not intellectually capable of helping with his homework it is me that has to assist him, mainly convince him. He is at all times fighting with me so he does not have to do his homework, which pushes my patience to its limits. Although mostly negative, my misbehaving brother has taught me how to be patient and responsible, not merely for myself, but also with other individuals. The lesson I learned while dealing with my brother helped me immensely with my academic struggles, but little did I know I was going to need both patience and responsibility when it came to helping my precious Mom.

My family environment played a major role in helping me become who I am currently. My mother has always motivated me to strive and do my utmost, especially at hard times. Whether I was having a hard time with a class or I was coming home thinking about quitting track and field because of how exhausting the practices were, she always pushed me to my true potential. My mother taught me that although something may seem too difficult to handle, it can be achieved if you attempt it with the correct mind-set. She has instilled many routines and characteristics that prove to be helpful in and out of school. These routines and characteristics include: usually never quitting on a task no matter how difficult it may seem, always over-preparing myself for almost anything by studying and learning the material necessary, and by becoming passionate for everything that I put myself to do. Having this pride to complete tasks and challenge obstacles has helped me become the person that I am now academically and that is all thanks to my mother and her high expectations of me.
