The letter writing task shares the same criteria as the other Task 1 essays. That means, you cannot write less than 150 words. You will receive an automatic failing score for writing only 80 words. In fact, you will score in the negative because there will be percentage deductions on the word count based on the lacking number. So there will be nothing left for the score, even when sectional scores are administered to the test results. Basically, you have not written enough words to qualify for a passing consideration in terms of scoring rubic considerations. The problematic grammar structure for the sentences will also result in a failing GRA score, even when your presentation meets the information requirements as per instructions. You need to write at least 150 words, 175 being the best word number and, you also need to focus on the clarity of your writing based upon correct sentence formation in the paragraphs. Always aim to write 3 paragraphs, no matter how short, for the task 1 essay.
