Dear Stipendium Hungaricum Admission Committee,

I am writing to express my sincere motivation to apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in Hungary.

I used to live in Sum which is far from the city, about 300 kilometres. There was only one petrol station and the owner is the richest person in my hometown. My parents told me that 'if you want to be rich, get a petrol station'. Of course it was a joke then, however, these words stuck in my head. At first my goal was only to become a rich person, just like other children. The single true fact that I knew about petrol was it should definitely connect with chemistry. Thus after moving to the city, I chose chemistry class as an elective course in the 10th grade.

In chemistry class, I studied that petrol came from crude oil, and during manufacturing this, almost no waste products were left behind. We can produce petrol, diesel for our everyday life; glycerin and vaseline for skincare; asphalt that is used for building roads and so on from this magical oil. After learning that I began to wonder what if we had one crude oil factory, then life would have been quite different. I discovered that Mongolia has a crude oil source, and the government has already discussed building a factory. We won't have to import plastics and fuels from other countries, just dreaming about this makes me happy. I want to participate in this big project, so I searched for my next step to achieve this dream.

Firstly, Mongolia needs a work force that needs to handle the factory, and those people are engineers. My country lacks people within science fields, especially engineers, so I want to become an engineer. However, what kind of engineer? Even though my true goal was to become a part of the crude oil factory, I also want to protect the environment as much as I can. I searched for the types of engineers and then chemical engineering caught my eyes. As it can find its place in any area, petroleum, medicine, water purification centres, food and light manufacturing areas; has a long career run; matches my interest; and most importantly it is crucial to the development of Mongolia and the pact of Sustainable Development Goals of the world.

Secondly, I needed to choose my university to absorb great knowledge and experience.
Hungary holds a strong position in the chemical engineering field as it has a history of over 160 years in it. I believe that I can accumulate real world experience through the practice based lessons that Hungarian universities offer and they concentrate on the petroleum field too. Additionally, the historically set unique buildings and squares captivated my artistic views, and even a peculiar goal of boarding a metro to sightsee throughout those beauties occurred in my mind.

Recalling the winter prior this year, applying to this programme was on my list, however, I did not reach 18 years old before the 31st of August 2025. Therefore, I wanted to improve myself to become the best candidate. I entered the X which is the highest ranked university for chemical engineering in Mongolia as a freshman last autumn.

'CLASS CODE' also known as 'Introduction to Chemical Engineering', I was eager to learn about it. It taught me how the chemical engineering field connects to sustainable development goals and plays a huge role there, how raw materials turn into crucial products, and especially how we can work in every field and can be a leader there.

Since Mongolia is going to have its first official crude oil extracting factory in the near future, and this needs a work force. Chemical engineering will play a huge role and I want to participate and lead Mongolia's development. The knowledge that I assimilate in Hungary will lead this career path.

Thank you so much for your valuable time in reviewing my application.

Sincerely,
X

Recalling the winter prior this year,

There is no need to share this information with the reviewer. It does not matter to him when you decided to apply of that you missed an application window, or that you needed time to prepare yourself. It is only the present moment and this current application information that he is interested in.

'Introduction to Chemical Engineering'

How did you do in this class? What were your grades like? How do you think it prepared you for studies in Chemical Engineering? More importantly, how did your previous studies and social exposure prepare you to attend college at an international university? What academic accomplishments would make you a stand out candidate? I do not see anything that makes you a potentially extra ordinary student. Without those qualifications, your application will not be competitive enough.
