I wrote a reference letter for a student, who wants to study Media in Netherlands. What do you think about it?
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this recommendation letter for XXX, who I strongly recommend for the admission to YYY University. I have known her since 2009 in the capacity of her professor and supervisor of one of her term papers.
XXX attended the following courses I teach: Art Management and Technology of Exhibition Business. As her supervisor I helped her while she was doing a research on Corporate Identity and Corporate Image as the Foundation for Corporate Communication. This paper had not only won the XVI Annual Contest of Students' Research Works but was also chosen to participate in the All-Russian Competition of Students' Projects in 2010. For all the years I've known her I had an opportunity to observe her goals, skills and abilities and I can certainly say that she is a mature, ambitious and hardworking person.
XXX has always been involved in a lot of projects, varying from educational tasks to extracurricular activities. As she has been studying at our Chair of Socio-Cultural Technologies she provided us a great help conducting Open Days and web-conferences for prospective students as well as being an Ambassador of our University. Further, she is always ready to take part in different conferences and seminars, to prepare reports and speeches which are always very thoughtful.
I gladly confirm that XXX is one the most brilliant students not only in her group but also among many other students of our University. I was really impressed about her deep knowledge in different fields, about her sharp intellect and ability to ask serious and thought-provoking questions. XXX is a really enthusiastic person who wills to discuss various topics and isn't afraid to express her own point of view, even if it is different from others'. She is always looking for a new challenge, for an opportunity to develop her skills and find something yet unknown for her.
XXX is a very initiative and sociable person, she can easily find a common ground with both teachers and students. I can surely call her a self-reliant individual with strong leadership skills. She is able to take responsibility for her actions and achieve her goals. For a long time XXX has been a group leader, ready to help and to explain unclear parts to every student donating her own time.
Her academic achievements are really impressive. For 4,5 years she didn't get any mark different from 5, so her expecting GPA is 5.0, what happens rather seldom. Due to her achievements, XXX was a fourfold winner of a tuition fee reduction up to 95% for the upcoming academic year.
In my view, XXX is a type of person who has the potential to achieve a great success in both academic and career activities. I am confident that with her combination of creativeness, intelligence, enthusiasm and perseverance she will with no doubt become a worthy student of your University.
Sincerely,
ZZZ ZZZ,
Prof. of the Chair of Socio-Cultural Technologies,
Saint Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences
