Why Freemason's added to the Design of the Dollar Bill

Okay hello!

I'm writing a research paper on the design of the dollar bill, and focusing on how the Freemason's added to the design.
It is well known that the Mason's added symbols to the current design of the dollar bill. My question is WHY did they do that? Why did they add this symbolism? This is what I would like to focus on and with all my research I can't really seem to find anything on why... Just that they did add symbols. Could anyone help me with this topic in anyway?

Sincerely

you should take a sip from Dan Brown's goblet of myth busters! More specifically ...The lost symbol.

What I can help you with is the "Eye of Providence" that shows up on the one dollar bill. Masons hold the faith that every action is observed by the "Master Architect" (Thats God to them - They dont refer to him as Allah or yahwa or God because it is believed that free masons as a group have people from different faiths.) Anyways, the eye reflects the eye of God. The use of this symbol can be traced to different cultures as well - eye of Horus, Christian Trinity,Buddhism, etc

If you read Dan Brown or/and search about free masons, youll see that they believe in a pyramid which holds the hidden secret to unparalleled knowledge and illumination. The capstone of the pyramid holds significance in this respect.

Again, if you have time, give The Lost Symbol a go.(it is rather boring in places, but will help you heaps.)

But i just want to know if there was any significance in why they put those symbols on the dollar bill... Just basically WHY did they do it? haha

Cool conversation here...

Well i bet I'll find a lot if I google the right words. I'll try a few now; wait here, I'll be right back...

I just found some great pages by using thee search words: american dollar symbols masons

But the thing to do is try to find credible sources from professional journal articles. I just searched questia.com and found out what you meant... it is hard to find goo sources about this!! Maybe no one is sure? Ha ha, that is bad luck for you, having to research a secret society.

If there is not sure explanation, you can collect all the various explanations people give and discuss them in your paper. Maybe you can even write about how it was hard to find good sources, and you can give your paper an interesting theme: secrecy

Hey.. I might not be any good to you guys but whats the risk?
You might want to google search some of these key words concerning the dollar bill and the epic free mason connections
1. Why were there to sides to The Great Seal when only one was officially used in documents

2. Repeated use of the number 13

3. Eye of providence - the all seeing eye; the idea that th top of the pyramid will be fabicated on it once America truly becomes what its supposed to be

4. Ben Franklin influence in the first comity when designing the fist dollar bill

5. 6 sided star reference on top of the pyramid

6. Was it a phoneix or an eagle

7. Annuit Coeptus Novous Ordus Seclorum - when alligned with 6 pointed star , it points to the letters: A,S,N,O,S,M = Masons

8. Date Illumati was fomed: 1776 (MDCCXXLVI = 666

9. And thats about all

Dont mind me, i'm not a conspiracy theorist...i just happened to watch a documentary on the masons and their influence in the making of the American Dollar Bill ( am i scarying you yet...lol)

Anyways that all I got, I hope that helps you..

From; Smira ( the NON- conspiracy theorist), xox

@ Kevin: I'd rather he named his paper "order from chaos"... Relevant both to his research paper and the basic belief system of the free masons!

"order from chaos"

I guess I don't understand very well. I am not very familiar with the masonic tradition and philosophy. "order from chaos" seems like a strange idea, because if order can be found in it then it is not chaos. I'm curious about the philosophical ideas involved here, but this is a subject I can't help much with, because I don't know it very well...

I'll Google around about the Free Masons...

:-) thanks!!!!
