Help thinking of several points for my Death Penalty Research paper!

RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES
1. 5-7 pages, double-spaced
2. Minimum of 5 sources, no more than two form the web.
3. MLA Format. Double-chekc, triple-check that the formatting is correct.
4. No cover page.
5. WORKS CITED. MLA Format.
6. Outline not necessary.
7. Due April 13th. No late papers accepted.
8. Times New Roman or Garamond font ONLY.

I will be marking a point off for everything that does not fall in step with MLA format, so take the time to double check, have a friend look it over, read aloud, etc.

I am writing a 5 to 7 page research paper on the Death Penalty. I have narrowed down this topic by deciding to write about the cost of lethal injection versus the cost of life imprisonment. This is my outline so far:

1.) Intro/thesis
2.) Cost of lethal injection
3.) Cost of life imprisonment
4.) Point 2 & 3 compared (possibly)
5.)
6.) Conclusion

Any suggestions on what some of my points should be?

Hi Sarah, this will make it difficult. Using this theme will make it so that your whole essay is based on only one point.

The thing to do is write a few paragraphs about what each author says and then let your thesis take form after you have written lots of paragraphs. Always be willing to adjust your thesis at the end, because that allows for you to improve your perspective through research.

I recommend this one a lot:

That article, if you can find it, has an introduction that outlines the whole argument as it usually takes form.

Don't be callow. Step back and recognize the inanity and satire of your making.

I am not taking a side, I am simply researching the facts about the current death penalty. I understand how touchy of a subject this is, and do not believe that I am being callow about anything.

I think callow means something like "superficial." Ha ha, I'll google it later. Maybe Mustafa meant that it is callow to even make such a comparison. The value of a life and all that. Like, maybe it is callow to even do the math, because it means you would possibly have your opinion on the death penalty swayed by what would save money.

However, this question of cost is a BIG question associated with the issue, so it deserves investigation!! That means you are not callow, ha ha...
