Here's the prompt:
"two-page essay explaining your interest in participating in the program, knowledge of business-related careers, career aspirations, and any additional information you would like to share."

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The ALVA business internship is a wonderful opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and explore business fields that I am interested in. The learning opportunities and experience that can be gained from this internship is very exciting. Ever since my first marketing class in high school, I have always had an interest in the business world. I found myself always watching the stock market and having a fascination about the decisions companies make to influence their stocks. I researched many jobs related to business and found that finance and accounting were the most intriguing to me. This internship is a wonderful opportunity to gain firsthand experience and get an in-depth look of how things actually operate.

Growing up, my family had a hard time adjusting to America after fleeing our war torn country Eritrea. My father, who worked tirelessly, desperately tried to find a job that could support our family. Due to his lack of college education, it was difficult to find a job with a decent salary that could support all of us. Watching my father's struggle gave me the inspiration to work hard in high school so that I could earn admissions to a great college. My goals were realized when I gained acceptance to the University of Washington. As the first person in my family to go to college, I did not want to disappoint. I laid out a four year plan on every class I would need to take and set goals for myself each quarter to stay on track. I wanted my father's hard work to be pay off and for him and my mom to finally go back home and retire after I graduate. This internship would equip me with the experience that is ever so needed in the business world and while also providing a little support for my family

My future career aspirations would be being in a finance or accountant position for a company. I expect seeing which I prefer as I take more classes here at the University of Washington. I am also talking with local alumni from my fraternity that are in these fields and even having some of them mentor me throughout my college career. I was able to meet with an alumnus that now works for an accounting firm and he was able to give me advice about what being an accountant entails. He even offered me an opportunity to job shadow him for a day which I fully intend on doing soon.

If I were to be an intern at Boeing, I would be able to bring a strong work ethic and demonstrate great organization skills with whatever task I may be presented with. Being the community service chairman of my fraternity, I am responsible for setting up several events that all 45 of us guys can do simultaneously. I am responsible for all the paperwork that is required to have all of them eligible and knowing everyone's schedule so there is not any conflict. As a house, we have put out a total 300 hours of community service during winter quarter.

I believe that to be able to have the most effective work environment, you need to have a compatible group of people with the same drive to complete a task. Working at Dairy Queen, I learned that being on the same page as everyone and knowing each person's skills and weaknesses, we were able to maximize our work efficiency and produce our products with limited wait time for our customers. By learning this, I make sure to introduce myself to every person I am working with and always try to be as clear as possible to where I stand on a project. Developing these bonds, I feel, is paramount to having the most effective work environment.

Having the chance to intern with Boeing would mean the world to me. It would allow me to help out my family with college expenses, while also gaining experience through the workers at Boeing. If chosen, I would work diligently with my peers and make sure I always give it my all each day.
