Leadership & Influence Question
Chevening is looking for individuals who will be future leaders or influencers in their home countries. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples of your own leadership and influencing skills to support your answer.

LEADER is a person who has been entrusted or recognized and appointed as the leader, commander, decision-maker, or manager of community, organization, Country, etc., which has an important role to inspire people to work more efficiently for the common good of all members. The LEADERSHIP is more comprehensive than individual character, which refers to the ability of leader and colleagues to recognize, influence, help others to work together, work effectively and efficiently to achieve common goals and make changes to the community, the organization or the country for quick progress. Of course leadership is subjective. But its foundation stems from one thing: the ability of an individual to establish a following among other individuals or teams. Every leader has his or her own style and strategy. Further, their leadership styles and methods will vary because they are influenced by multiple factors.
One year ago, I had handle one project with 2 members in GL Finance Plc (GLF). That project was about arrangement company trip for 1000 staff attention. There were local trip, Thailand trip, Singapore trip and Japan trip, which we had to arrange for them. We had only 3 months for that preparation. The point we had to challenge the budget plan and available date. I had used some strategy to achieve that project.
I created a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to plan our work more efficiently. A project is characterized by time-limited activities and is assigned fixed time frames and cost. This WBS helped me to make this planning consistent and provided for effective project execution. Allocation of jobs to all team members effectively - I needed to allocate roles to members in such a way that the roles are coordinated to achieve the project and that team members take responsibility for their individual roles. Allocating appropriate roles and coordinating these roles can lead to increased morale and motivation. I had to follow up and check up report and take action immediately. Meeting for discussing about problem and find the best way to solve it. As the result, we achieved the project successfully and our top manager also appreciated with my leadership skill.
I'm strongly believe that Chevening Scholarship will give me a opportunity to develop my personal skills as a leader by sharing future leaders from around the world. Then I will use these skills to be an influencer in my home country.
