Scholarships Essay ~ Why you choose this course and why you deserve this scholarship.
Hi, I am new to this forum. Please help me to improve my grammar + language + word choices.
"Engineers like to solve problems. If there are no problems handily available, they will create their own problems." This quote is literally describing me. As long as I remember, I was interested in the way of every single things around me worked. Since young, I'm the one who constantly dissemble toys and other things that around me. This has made me to become the "destroyer" of the home. This is the "problem" I created. Every single time I have been asked, I answered : "To know what is inside the toy and how they work". Although I am not sure about the reality of this event, I tried to apply this to my principle of my life.
Since young, I was so passionate about mathematics and computer. I spent time learning mathematics and understanding computer. As a result, I was the "Mathematics Master" at my primary school. No matter how though the mathematics is, I would not give up easily. I would have spent time solving it. I know that this would help in my future life too. So, I pleased my parent to let me participating mathematics camp. By the end of primary school life, I learnt the basic of programming and were able to program a simple program. This is what I get from my hardworking manner. You gained what you learned for.
When at secondary school, I participated a lot in activities, clubs and societies. I know, by participating societies, I can learnt a lot of new knowledge rather than those outdated one in textbook. By the end of the secondary life, I found out that Electrical and Electronic Engineering were my greatest passion. I consistently involving myself in different kind of competition that are related to science, mathematics and computer. Although sometime I lose in the competition, but I learned something new from the competition and start researching online.
In order to make my dream to came true, I need to be persistent and determined to achieve my aspirations. However, I am not able to be at this level without my parents' support. Without giving my parents to be worried, I promised my parents to be funding myself. As a result, I search for scholarships and some part-time job that could contribute to achieve my dream. By working as a part-timer, I gained a lot of working experience too. I know how to serve a customer, communicate with stranger and preparing myself for the next challenges.
With UCSI, one of the best engineering university in Malaysia, which is well-equipped, I am able to learn more and understand more. With the course I am applying, I will be able to success in my life and contribute to this society.
