The Hispanic community is the youngest and fastest growing minorities. Unfortunately, the Hispanic group is one of the minorities in the United States that l least graduates from high school or college. As a Hispanic, I play an important role to improve the statistics of researches that put the Hispanics community to be an inferior level. The Hispanics is a multicultural group that has people from different countries, like no other, thus making me proud of my heritage.

The Hispanic communities around the united states are mainly of immigrants, which come to improve their life style and have a better life. In this country, most immigrants undergo discrimination and hardship to be able to sustain their families because of their legal status or education. I grew up in an environment that lack in knowledge, surrounded by individuals that had only reached a primary or secondary education. The struggle of those uneducated individuals in their lives, whom I would see on a daily basis, changing my life significantly.

My parents are both Hispanic immigrants and they have always worked hard to make their children, people of success. My father would wake up early in the morning to be able to get the bus and go to his job, at Boca Raton. His employment made it complicated to be able to have a relationship with his children because he would always arrive late, when we were already sleeping Since, I can remember I have always wished to help my parents out in anything I can. Thus, motivating me to work hard in school, to be able one day to go to college with a full paid tuition of a four-year college. My major goal has always been to get a postsecondary education to make my parents proud.

To be the first female and Hispanic generation, it has been hard for me to overcome prejudices and the Hispanic ideals of women portrait to be housewives, including the domestic role of a woman. Ironically, I live in male dominance that believe the same way, however I have work hard and demonstrated to me more intellectual and capable of withstanding any obstacle that I face. Although, many individuals have come to the United States to achieve their dreams, they have brought their customs and beliefs, incorporated to the society these common ideals. Throughout centuries, the male have dominated not only in the Hispanic community, but throughout the whole world. It's important to acknowledge and honor the struggles that women in today's society face. Every semester I set a goal of reaching the superior honor roll to be able obtain my position as one of the top students in my class, this small goals lead me to achieve my main goal. The small goals are tasks that will eventually direct me to obtaining my long-term goal.

Generally, my heritage has always helped me to interact with different people because I can relate to them. In life, one of the most important things is to be well-like and have acquaintances that may one day help in the future. In my case being a Hispanic has help me to be more tolerate and considerate towards people. Likewise, my heritage has given me several advantages over my academics. Hispanic talk Spanish, derived from Latin, helping me being able to use this to my advantage because it helps me on standardized test that emphasize on vocabulary. Also, being born a Hispanic, I am capable of speaking, writing and reading two languages. In the case of attain a career, vastly facilitating me to achieve it.
