developing the Renewable Energy industry
In Ghana, the main sources of power supply are from hydroelectricity (being the majority), natural gas and diesel, thermal fuel from crude oil, and a little solar energy. These power supply sources have been known to pose some challenges to the nation. During the dry season, electricity generated by dams reduces due to the low level of water in the dam. Solar energy is not efficiently not being used in the country. Crude oil has been known to produce pollutants and it has been known that the crude oil reserve would not last forever. Renewable energy contributes 1% to the energy sector. With the knowledge and techniques that I am going to acquire after the completion of this graduate program, I hope to improve upon the energy sector of the country. My future plan is to set up a world-class Renewable Energy Industry that will produce clean and affordable energy by using the huge chunk of agricultural waste and bio-waste being generated in the country. I will partner with the government of Ghana in providing expertise on how to develop the renewable energy sector, thus, relieving the pressure placed on the main sources of power supply in the country.
I will be very glad if someone could go through this essay. I am applying for the Chevening scholarship and this is under career plan
