The Internet is Today's Evolution essay
Searching up a word like "scientific research" or "NASA research" can get you from 50-70 million hits on Google. I believe the Internet is today's evolution because it is beneficial to all age groups. The Internet is changing the world everyday with newer, faster and better ways to do things online. For most people they cannot picture life without internet it is an essential need in their daily lives. Using college life as an example of how internet has modernized our time, when laptops or computers were not common between students, assignments were to be done in pen and handed in directly to the teacher. In today's day and age, assignments are typed up, and emailed directly to the teacher.
As the years have passed the internet has changed social life completely in many different ways like enhancing the ability to research, blog, network and even reconnecting with people halfway across the world. Social networking is a huge factor when it comes to the World Wide Web. Websites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace are a daily usage for all age groups. Usually using these sites connect you with friends, family and co-workers. You could say the internet is just another way to interact with the people around you like texting on a cell phone. You cannot compare the Internet to a cell phone at all; looking at how advanced some of these sites are like uploading a video to Youtube, updating you status on facebook or following a major Hollywood star on Twitter.
The internet is a powerful tool for researching and getting information for school projects, scientific discoveries, etc. For example students can use various databases which are filled with academic journals, periodicals, article references and much more including photographs which can be used for visually enhancing a project. Some Colleges or Universities have some databases which teachers can email you or post your assignments online for you without even going to the class. Teachers can also post a test which you can write online. Though not saying you cannot get caught with cheating, a website called Turnitin.com checks for plagiarism on a submitted piece of writing. Turn it in checks through all commercial pages from books, newspapers, magazines and journals, student papers already submitted to turn it in, and scans all notes from GradeGuru a free online note-sharing community.
These databases are usually used at an academic area, like school, or the public library, some databases can even be accessed at home with a password. Most of the databases are references to magazines, books and articles already published.
