Leadership has many definitions on Internet. For me, Leadership is all the process used by someone to guide, convince himself and others to go from a point A (initial point) to a point B (better point). From this definition, commitment, continuous improvement and open-mindedness are some qualities a leader must have.
In my college years, I led a project "La Flamme" which had the objective to give to youngster some insights about the logistics and transport environment. The purpose was to give birth of the idea in their mind so that when the time comes, they will choose to pursue their career in this field.
As a team leader, it was my responsibility to ensure my team recruit staff, motivational speakers, and book transportation for attendees. I created a team and assigned each of them some responsibilities depending on their strengths. Now, more and more students are informed about Logistics and eager to build their career in this domain.
In 2019, there was a point in time where the staff needed some training in Excel and Data studio to be efficient in their day to day work. Give them the necessary skills to be productive and efficient. I decided to do a volunteer work by sparing some time each week in their training during more than one month. At the beginning I worked with 10 employees in my department in coaching them every week with some small projects to fulfill. By the end of XXX, those colleagues improved a lot and were now able to use some complex functions to be efficient in their work. As a result, I received an offer from my manager to train the people of Nigeria too which I successfully done by using the same approach. Now those people are using those knowledge to do their work and transmit it to newcomers as well.
My last experience was to lead a project on the improvement of the production capacity. For that, a small taskforce was created and then I decided to contact each plant and gather their needs. After that, I translate those needs into digital tool with the help of my local team. This tool is now used in more than 15 countries and helped drive the improvement of capacities
