Responsibilites you had to take and how did you handle it? FLEX PROG

hey guys, well, i need to write an assay about the topic written above.Is it okay to write some personal things? I want it for FLEX program, it's when if you pass the exams, you go to America for one year to study, and I'm taking my chances :3

my main responsibility is studying, and I take it really seriously, but my parennts think that I don't care about studying and education, that I'm only interested in Facebook and computer, it's not so, I study and get good grades but my mom is still unpleased. When I get A, she has no reaction, like I didn't even say anything, but when I get C she's freaking out, that I didn't study and is dissapointed in me. But I did study, I do work hard but she isn't listening to me, she thinks that I didn't study because I don't have much homework to do and I finish it quickly. Whatever my parents are thinking about me, I know I'm right and that I handle my responsibilities. My mom is even taking my mobile phone from me, and gives it to me when I finish studying. she doesn't trust me. She also thinks that I can't do things on my own, and if not her, I wouldn't study, and that I wouldn't take my responsibilities seriously. I want to go to America to prove to her that I CAN do things on my own, and than I can study without her, and maybe then she won't be dissapointed in me.

Well.... first, it's good if you posted the prompt for us to understand it better. In this response, I see the struggle you had convincing your parents about handling your responsibilities. However, I find that it is not presented in a more matured way. Even without going to America you have ways and means of proving yourself. So, I doubt they consider America is a more rational excuse.
