1. "Please outline how this scholarship will assist you in the future?"
The major public health challenges my country faces, are infectious diseases, sewage disposal, water supply, air pollution, noise pollution, environmental radiation, solid waste disposal, disaster management, maternal and infant mortality, health financing, poor sanitation and hygiene, and non-communicable diseases amongst others.
With a MPH - Public Health degree from your university, I would be knowledgeable in important aspects of public health such as disease prevention, health protection and promotion. I would have been exposed to broad based state of the art quantitative and qualitative skills needed to confront these problems, and I would be able to contribute positively towards curtailing these and many more public health challenges in my country.
It will also enable me achieve my long term ambition of working with International Organisations such as the World Health Organisation and the United Nations Child Education Fund, where my experience can be put to a much wider use to the benefit of the world population at large.
2." Please state why you believe that you should be considered for the Scholarships"
I have decided to study for an MPH - Public Health at your University because it's an International Institution of great repute. After studying in detail, the MPH - Public Health curriculum of your university in comparison with others, I find it very related to my needs, and will be more helpful in achieving my ambition of being a successful Public Health practitioner back home in my country.
While appreciating my parents effort in exhausting their savings to ensure I have a first degree, my thirst for knowledge, and desire to contribute positively to improving the public health situation in my country has pushed me to applying for this scholarship. With the tuition fees out of my worries, I would be able to pay for my accommodation from the little savings I have made and also with the help of my family and friends. This is my only hope of commencing and completing the MPH - Public Health program, with which I would be thoroughly equipped to confront and improve the public health challenges in my country and contribute to ensuring that public health becomes our everyday life style and an essential part of our lives in my home country.
