Hi, I'm applying for chevening scholarship this year. I'll love to have your feedback.
Instruction:
"Outline why you have selected your chosen three university courses and explain how this relates to your previous academic or professional experience and your plans for the future. Please do not duplicate the information you have entered on the work experience and education section of this form".
Essay:
During my undergraduate studies, I learnt how continuous improvement it's essential to have a profitable business. For that, I decided to work in an operative process where I can implement new projects and make Kaizens. As today, I'm working in a Mexican company who has international presence in the automotive industry but also, with the needs to develop and face new strategies and challenges. When a new project it's approved, there's a purchasing team which develops and assign budget for it. Then in the implementation stage, I can't understand how some decisions were made which, in the future, will affect the operation. My goal is to have the input between the operation process and the financial and management targets to create preventive actions which do not affect the project.
My first course choice is "Management and Finance MSc" at Nottingham Trent University. This program brings the opportunity to be part of a Business School with a very good rank in important awards (e.g. Guardian University Guide 2020) and the 98% of graduate students who get a job within six months. I believe that studying in NTU will empower me to become a greater leader in my country trough the extracurricular activity this university has.
My second choice is "Business and Management MSc" at University of Nottingham. This school is ranked as one of the best in the UK and it's the #11 according to the results in the Students Crowd Ranking. I know this will help to make easier for adapt to a new country and culture.
Also, while I was searching for cities in UK, I fell Nottingham it's the best for me because of its warm people and the young population it has.
My third choice is "Management and Finance MSc" at University of Sussex. This course being similar to the first one, my election here is for the Sussex school which has a variety of specialized topics both in management and finance to match with my career development.
I know these 3 programs are an excellent option for me and I will gain knowledges and invaluable skills to share with my future co-workers in my country and in the long future I'll share with the students I want to develop.
