Greetings from the President

My fellow athletes and ssireum fans,

Our ancestors enjoyed ssireum to build up a sense of the community spirit and solidarity. Ssireum is the oldest form of sport in Korea, and it is composed with the courtesy and the enlightenment. As traditional culture reflecting the spirit and soul of our ancestors, ssireum was designated as a national intangible cultural asset (no. 131), and co-registered by North and South Korea as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage in 2018.

Concreting the subject of 'Globalization of Ssireum' as a universal proposition, with all of our capability, we will spread ssireum as a Korean culture(The Korean Wave/Hallyu) around the world and devote ourselves entirely to make ssireum of a proud national property as traditional culture.

We need now to change and do our best to present ssireum competition at an arena more exciting and popular for the public, from watching a ssireum competition to participating ssireum activities, and from ssireum using just force to ssireum applying various techniques.

I would like to listen and reflect your good opinions for better policies of ssireum. And I thank you to visit a ssireum arena to watch and encourage our ssireum athletes. I hope that you support ssireum, as our culture and sport, to inherit and take a leap forward in its development.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone doing their best behind the stage for developing ssireum. I wish everyone good health and fortune. Thank you.

Ancestors did enjoy the group but, didn't they found/establish the group before enjoying it? Maybe you would like to change the word reference?


Since some of your audien e may not be familiat with the sport, you should explqin tge history and method of gameplay for those concerned. Some Koreans may not be familiar with it either.


For what reason? Explain the importance of this reference.


How does it relate? What is the global importance or contribution?


What is the global plan? The speech has too many loopholes that need to be addressed.
