I just wondering is that a rule the length of a CV or personal statement?
What is the guideline?
What is important to including or not to write in the statement?

The reason that I asked because I/m in the planning stage of writing a CV to apply for MA in sociology. Any suggestions are welcome.

As far as I know CV is ordinary max 2 pages long.
It is usefull to divide the space in functional parts so as the eye of the person who is reading the CV could easily find the necessary part. All the statements shoild be concise and as short as possible.

By the way there are a lot of templates in the Internet, I also not long ago searched for them).

Yes, this is good advice, here. You can google this: curriculum vitae examples

That will give you a lot of good ideas. And I think the most important point to keep in mind is that you should write it with the intention of showing that you have several very clear goals that you are working toward, and you have a clear idea of what you want to do and why you want to be involved in this program. It is okay for some people to be uncertain about what they want to do, but for your purposes it is good to be DECISIVE and give a lot of details about what you want to do.

If the masters student is applying for admission to an MA program at a specific university, he must first consider what the university requirements are for their students. Some of them actually have specific writing instructions for their personal statements to guide the students in providing information that they consider important. Others, allow for an open personal statement where the student is allowed to discuss anything about himself in the essay.

In the case of a non-instruction specific personal statement, the student should try to write a combination of information that will highlight his personal aspect, academic considerations, and career goals. When written seamlessly, the combined information allows the university to learn about the overall development of the candidate. Oftentimes, the screeners prefer to read no more than 750 words for these sorts of applications. PhD level personal statements should be composed of no more than 1000 words. That is because PhD applications require more extensive discussion coverage when considering the background of the applicant.

The worst thing that one can do is rely on the templates being offered for free online. That is because these templates do not work for all instances, combining the template versions could result in an overly complicated and unuseful manner. There is no right or wrong way of writing these CV and personal statements, unless actually guided by a prompt. Covering as much information as possible in the non-guided personal statement would be the version that allows an applicant to cover the most information in the most useful format.

Length requirements for your CV depends on the university you are applying to. Some will give you specific requirements, like max. 2 pages and so forth. So you need to check the application requirement for each university you are applying to. If it is not given, then you can use your own discretion but also bear in mind not to make it too long. You can have a very long CV, but to each application, you can trim it to meet the requirements of that particular program you are applying for.

On the suggestions to make it successful, make sure to highlight in detail what you have done so far and read online templates, you can as well watch videos of how successful applicants wrote theirs.
