What is LIAISON OFFICER ??

Dear all my Senior

During ASEAN Ministerial meeting 2022 in Cambodia , there are so many LO that respond to have Honorable Guest or Speaker ?

My question is what is the main duties of LO?
I would like to ask you about LIAISON OFFICER (LO) duties and responsibility?

In a company, there is a department that handles promotions and client interaction. A liason officer facilitates or assists in those tasks. It is all about public relations. The job of a liason officer is the same in a government office or agency.. He represents the company, agency, or government in various diplomatic settings. A liason officer helps to promote diplomatic relationships through representations of his government department or other offices.

He performs seminars, speeches, attends meetings on behalf of his office, and other tasks as assigned to him by the head of the agency in order to properly represent and promote his governments interests and other relationships. The liason officer was not the invited speaker at the ASEAN Summit. Rather, he was the representative of the invited speaker, delivering a speech or speeches on his behalf.

Through this function he is able to interact with other interested parties and has the opportunity to explain political stands and ideaologies, topics relevant to his country's actions in certain settings, and events that his country sponsors, while developing and fostering relationships between nations. It is a highly important and influential position in any government agency worldwide.
