Unlike most people, who start interests through achievements, my interest in accounting started when I was 10 years old when I began "working" for my family's business as a cashier. Exchanging money and merchandise is the core economic model, or, as we called it, the soul of business. Hence, many years' of work experiences contribute to my desire to engage in business.

As my family's business grew bigger and bigger, my involvement in it also became deeper and more complicated. I then decided to pursue a degree at a top business school, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, to study accounting more systematically. After taking courses in Accounting, Taxation and Corporation Finance, I found out how a company's goodwill can provide opportunities to convert assets into revenues, how a planned budget can cause capital strand breaks, and how regulations in an accounting control system can help every department be independent while cooperating with other departments seamlessly, how a firm select financial strategies and how managers choose which aspect of a firm needs the most investment. I realized that is exactly what I seek and exactly what my family's companies need! I also realized that the accounting systems in my family's companies are far from perfect.

Dongbei University gave me a clear view of my future study; I would like to learn more advanced technologies and skills, specifically in the accounting and controllership track. And it is my sincere desire to lead by contributing my knowledge while developing my family's business to further success.

I know that I have always been ready; I naturally possess some key qualities for being leader in the business world. My talents of strong analytical skills, special problem solving capabilities, accurate analysis of logical context and quick decision making reveal that I fully hold the necessary traits to become an excellent CPA. Furthermore, I have always been the class monitor and honor student in school for over the past fifteen years. I am very good at communicating with people since I had to spend much time balancing all kinds of struggles between students and students, students and teachers, and students and parents. They always say that I am their angel, an angel much needed amongst them. (I demonstrated a superior combination of leadership, managerial and communication skills. As a class monitor, I'm so sensitive to others feelings and recognizes that listen to all positions patiently and effectively control their demonstration of emotion, thereby gaining the respect of classmates and lending additional credibility from them.) As leader of our collegiate team, I competed in the National IMA competition. Unfortunately, we ended up losing the championship, but all of us learned a lot from it.

I am an active and enthusiastic person. I like to challenge myself; I have always felt that hard times are the best way to mature and strengthen a person. Success definitely comes from failure and persistence. So I never feel fear or frustration when faced with difficulty. For instance, when studied calculating in mathematics, I self-learned computer programming and even passed the National Computer Rank Examination, not at all required/criteria for the class. I can even use ERP to keep accounts, analysis and statistics by joining different tables' records in my data programming.

I am also very aggressive. When I first went to college, I was slimmer and skinny than I am now. I know how important a strong body is in business, which requires working through high speed, high stress and generally hard tasks. For example, working several days and nights without sleeping is fairly normal. Thus, I trained myself in amateur boxing. At the beginning I "fought the air", which is to stand in a right position and repeat the straight, swing and hook punches. Previously, I had never encountered such boring and tiring things. After only several weeks of practice, my hands couldn't stop shaking and could hardly handle a small pen. However, I didn't quit and kept practicing little by little. Eventually, to my surprise, I saw some tiny muscles on my arms. I was very excited and continued to enjoy more hard training, which resulted in big awards, such as third place in the National Female Amateur Boxing contest. Also, due to these achievements, I was classified as Chinese National Second Class Athletic.

I believe that pursuing a master's degree in a world renowned school is my next step forward towards my long held desire. It will allow me to take part in the wider world of internships and build real world experience. Also, advanced accounting courses will strengthen my foundations in build accounting systems, while these courses and financial management courses will help prepare me for my future career. The outstanding faculty, along with the excellent selection of courses available within the business program will equip me with the latest accounting theories and practices to obtain my professional goals.

I have long admired your esteemed university. I believe that the combination of my past experiences and academic knowledge will qualify me as a University *** candidate and furthermore will prepare me to achieve my career goal in the future.

Unlike most people, who start interests through achievements,

I think this is not the case with many. So I wish if you present your passion for accounting in a different way because this may give the impression that your thinking is more stereotyped.

At the age of ten, I manned the cashier's counter of our family business. That is how I learned the basics of economic model; accepting money in exchange of merchandise. It is this work experience that nurtured my strong desire to engage in business.
