I'm applying for the Art Institute of Charleston SC. These are the three qustions I am to answer, as well as the instructions I was provided with for writing my application essay:

1. What are you career goals?

2. How do you expect your education at The Art Institute of Charleston to help you attain your career goals?

3. In what ways will you participate and commit to your education in order to be successful?

Because we are interested in your idea and your ability to express yourself, you are not permitted to receive assistance from others in writing this essay. Failure to follow this instruction may be grounds for rejection of your application or, if you are accepted, grounds for dismissal from the program.

As, the instructions say, I can not have any help in writing this essay but I would appreciate a general proof-reading to check for mistakes, oppinions on whether it flows and is easily understood, and on whether it is college application worthy. Thanks!

Essay:

My career goal is to find a job to which I can dedicate my time, passion, and talent and be able to continue and progress in that job without tiring of it. I believe that to pursue a career in graphic design will provide a job such as that for me. It is my hope that once I obtain my bachelor's degree I will be able to enter the graphic design career field and work my way up to perhaps a layout artist or a creative director. It is my opinion that the Art Institute of Charleston will help me to achieve those goals. I am a hands-on learner and will benefit greatly from the direct experience in the design world that is provided at the Art Institute. In addition, the way that the courses at the AI are so focused on each student's chosen program will be very helpful in keeping me on track for my desired career.

My commitment to my education will be fueled by my passion for art and design. I believe that in art, an artist can never be finished with his work. There will always be one more line that could be eliminated or one more area that could be darkened to improve upon the work. I know that I personally do this to my own work, staring at it for long periods of time just to fix one more thing. I hope to apply this philosophy of betterment to all of my work at the Art Institute, always allowing room for improvement. I believe that going to the Art Institute of Charleston will provide me with many opportunities for that improvement.
