I wanted to make sure my grammar was perfect, and that I properly address the prompt. UWisconsin prompt: Consider something in your life you think goes unnoticed and write about why it's important to you.

There are two essential things that must be put together in order to make something great - attention to detail and the overall big picture. Without a doubt, the big picture is something that is important in itself; however, what people tend to disregard are the little details that make up the picture. It was not until I asked my friend, "What about me do you think goes unnoticed?" did I receive the immediate response of "Your attention to detail." I then realized that this skill was so vital to my being that I believe I would not be the person I am without it. My attention to detail is what has brought me success in my life so far. For instance, when the school year began, the DECA chapter needed a new president. I believed I was highly under qualified since I did not make it to the national competition, and many others told me I did not have the ability to take on that position, so I did not apply for it. Unexpectedly, my teacher pulled me aside and told me he had chosen me to be president. Puzzled, I asked him "Why?" He simply said to me "You have every quality of what it takes to be a leader." Based off of my presidency so far, I understand what he was talking about. I displayed this skill in a myriad of ways: by taking note of what people said, of how they presented themselves, of how they behaved, and by how I performed. Without a doubt, I would consider myself one of the best president's of our DECA chapter so far. I have successfully completed every task with no failure. This year our chapter has had record - breaking membership, a record - breaking holiday sale, and possibly the most successful fundraising. I have made sure that every task that needed to be done was completely and fully fulfilled without an error. No one believed that I could be a successful leader due to my reserved personality. However, what makes a leader is not how vocal they are or how creative they are, but it is the effort they put in in order to make something perfect. Overall, my attention to detail is important to me because it has helped lead me to the path of success. I believe at the University of Wisconsin I will be an asset to the school of business because I will be able to contribute the attention the detail that is so often looked over.

Gabriela, you have written an essay response that would have worked if the prompt asked you to "Write an essay about something that people notice about you." You are fully cognizant of the fact that your attention to detail exists. other people are also aware of that fact and have even told you about it. That is therefore, the incorrect answer to this prompt. It has to be an aspect of your personality or trait that exists within you that, until the moment you had to analyze yourself and write about this essay prompt, you and other people never noticed before. If you prefer, you may choose to write about a trait of yours that you know you have but that other people do not notice or just take for granted. That is the kind of response that works best for this prompt.
