Prompt: Why did you choose to apply to UCF?
I chose to apply to the University of Central Florida because it is a school that I have always dreamed of going to, mainly for the computer science degree. I have researched countless school all over the United States, and the University of Central Florida has an amazing rap sheet for exactly what I want to do. Also, it is within Florida, so it's not too far, but it's not so close that I can stay home and attend; I do not want to stay home and attend college. I want to get out, break away from my safe haven, get a job, and have amazing college experiences. Something I couldn't get from a college or university that is only a couple miles away.
Having a Florida prepaid 4-year university plan helps a lot too. My grandparents bought me and my brother teddy bears when we were born. Our younger cousin, the first girl born into the family, got Florida prepaid college and a new room. This made my mom furious, ergo acquiring Florida prepaid college from my grandparents for me and my brother. I can deal without a new room, but having prepaid college lets me focus on saving money for room and board, which is not cheap. Why am I telling you that? You already know.
My goal in life is to become a computer programmer or software engineer at a major game corporation like Activision or EA, and the best way to do that is through UCF. Computer science is the major that is needed to work at such places, and I have been working on my math skills ever since I figured that out. I have gotten e-mails from many schools in Florida and I delete them because I already know where I want to be. It's something I've known since the beginning of high school. UCF is where I belong.
