Not exactly finished with my personal statement, at this point it is very rough. Just want some feedback on how it is so far. Thanks
Here's the prompt:
In 250-300 words, tell us more about you and why you are considering VCU
Growing up in a town with a population of just over 1,000 people and a graduating class with only 150 students it's hard to be exposed to diversity and other points of view. Throughout my life and school career I've mainly been surrounded by middle-class White Americans. I feel like everyone in my town believes the same things, feels the same way about issues, and is raised the same I was raised. I believe the vast amount of diversity and the size of Virginia Commonwealth University will allow me to grow and thrive as a person. It will allow me to see others' points of view and broaden my horizons. It will permit me to get away from the typical small town mind set. VCU will allow me to become worldlier and become a better person because of it. Living in a big, bustling city like Richmond will allow me to explore different cultures, meet students/faculty from all around the globe which will allow me to become more educated and scholarly.
