Hello! I am super glad I found this site as it is really helpful. If you can, please correct any spelling/grammar/weird sentences that I have as I would really appreciate it... thanks! Also, the word limit is 100 for each question so I can't really elaborate on a lot of things.
1. What is your favourite subject and why? (100 words or less)
Music is my favourite subject because it has been a very big part of my life throughout high school. Being in a music program, I have spent the last 4 years in the same music class where I made the most amazing memories. Although I never considered music to be something I would pursue in the future, the opportunities and experiences that were given to me, is something I would never forget. The memories I have made with my teachers and peers who I have grown with in these past years, is why music is my favourite subject.
2. Why are you interesting in this program? (100 words or less)
The UTSC MIB program is one that I am very interested in because it incorporates two things that I am very passionate about, business and the world. Business is a career that I have always seen myself to be a part of and to be able to learn about the business world through an international lens, is exciting and suits me very well. I am fascinated by the world and the opportunity to learn a language and complete a study and work term abroad, is something that I want to be a part of.
3. What experiences and skills might you bring to this field? (100 words or less)
In the summer of 2015, I traveled to Vietnam and developed skills that are important when pursuing international business. The ability to problem solve, think uniquely, and understand another culture and its practices, are skills I developed that will help me when working abroad. Skills that will aid me in any aspect of business, is my ability to collaborate well with others and take initiative when things need to be done, which I have developed through working part time. I believe that these skills will help me be successful in management and international business.
4. Please describe your writing and communication skills, indicating particular strengths or weaknesses (100 words or less)
A strength that I have found through this past year, is my ability to communicate well with others, which has been important when working in a group. My writing, however, is what I am always trying to improve on as my teachers have told me to work on more concise writing and fluidity in my sentences. Through this past year in English, I have learned to integrate my quotes to create smooth flowing sentences, and have worked on my writing to connect all my words into coherent sentences.
