waldo - Inside your mind

A man with a red striped shirt and a hat, trying to blend in the crowd, hiding from society asks us to find him. So where is Waldo, really? Such a question leaves me in the deepest thought for the longest time. On the train, when I'm sleeping or when I'm eating. I'm practically living in the process of thinking about where Waldo really is. I mean, we all have played the game at one point or another but have we really stopped to think about where Waldo is? At a definitive point in time? No, because he does not exist in one place. He is everywhere; at the beach, in the far east of China, the playground or the jungle.

Waldo is not just a person we see in a childish game. He is not someone we can grasp onto and say we found him. Waldo is metaphorically our inner desire and devotion. He is the embodiment of the dreams of people around the world waiting to be found. We are given an image of what we want to find, a blurred, far off idea, but the process of finding it is up to us. The journey, the obstacles in the way and fate plays a part in the game. Many of us think finding and pursuing an education and a career to be a game. That's finding Waldo for them. Through clicks and tremulous hours of looking for a figure engraved in our head, we might have mistakenly thought somebody else was Waldo. In life, many people pursue a career for fame and money but not for love and passion. That's a mistaken glimpse of Waldo, not truly him but just somebody who emulates him.

Like a kid who plays with fire fighter action figures or a man with a desire to go to the moon, they are waiting to find their Waldo. In fact, Waldo is not a single noun; it's a collective of everyone's hopes and desires. As babies, we don't know what we desire yet, it is as we experience life and grow older do we grow wiser about decisions and the paths we want to take. The inner Waldo is hiding in a crowd of people, or rather an unconscious thoughts waiting for you to realize it.

Every Waldo found contributes ideas to the world, big or small. It creates a diverse, cooperating world of thinkers and philosophical workers who make the world a better place. The world as we know it composes of people who found Waldo, waiting to find Waldo or doesn't know of a Waldo to be found yet. Those three kinds of people exists somewhere or another. It could be a friend, a family member or even you. So, next time you sit down in your leisure time to play "Where's Waldo?" think about your life and reflect on it.

That's where Waldo really is. Inside your mind.

I probably have a lot of grammar and issues so please help revise it ! <3 Thanks!

I like your essay, but there are two major points that stick out to me.
1. It's very short. The prompt asks for one to two pages which should be around 600 words or more, so take the time to expand upon your ideas.

2. Your sentences seem rather short and choppy and you tell me a lot about what Waldo is not or what many people think he is, but elaborate very little on who he really is or why this prompt, "Where is Waldo, really?" matters.

Overall I like it, but it does seem rather generic and I think you could add some details to improve :)

I'm also writing on the same topic, if you could read/respond to mine, that would be great!

Good job and good luck :)
