In a concise narrative, describe your notion of 'the good life'. How will your undergraduate experience at the University of Florida prepare you to live 'the good life'? Please Help Me How can I improve? Am I on topic? What can I take out or should add? Do I talk about UF enough?
What is this so called "Good Life"?, the Merriam Webster Dictionary mundanely describes it as "A life marked by a high standard of living" but this definition provokes more questions then answers. I mean what exactly is this "high standard of living", is it a living defined by suit and tie parties filled with acquaintances you barely know and can tolerant chowing down on cavaier as your foreign cars sit idle in the basement of your $91 million dollar penthouse atop the bright lights of Manhattan. Or is it a living defined by fun and freedom surrounded by friends and family who truly love you no matter how rich or poor you may be. Another question this definition raises is who exactly must have this high standard of living, while the answer may seem obvious right now I assure you it's not. For example if your stomach is empty, your energy drained, and your mind is constantly racing to find answers to the question whats next, Are you living the "high standard of living" if your child is safe and sound with a full stomach and not a care in the world? These questions are perplexing and so I'll leave you to think about them and go over them for yourselves. Myself on the other hand have given up on trying to interpret this vague definition and have come up with my own.
To me the Good Life is simply Life itself, as long as you have something to be happy about your life no matter it's up's and down's is good and blessed. My something to be happy about is Having a purpose, being a success, and last but not least making money and making memories with friends and family. In terms of making memories with friends and family I'm already living a good life, a great life at that. During my 17 years on Earth I've been blessed with people who truly love me and will do anything to help me. My parents can't afford to give me everything but what I do have I'm thankful for and thats the case in most homes around the world. I don't live in the biggest fanciest house but once I go to my bed with a full stomach and sturdy roof above my head I really and truly have nothing to complain about and all my parents ask in return is that I try my best in school. With that being said I'd love to be able to have the finer things in life and to also give back and to one day provide an even better life for my family then I was provided with and thats where the University of Florida comes in. UF is a great, prestigious institution and has provided a quality education and in turn life to all of those lucky enough to pass through its gates and be educated by their world reknown professors. I believe this education can provide me the foundation for not even a good life but rather a GREAT life. A M.B.A in Business from UF will allow me access to a position in my dream field allowing me to do what I love for a living. A living I'm sure will more then be enough to provide a great life for my family and to give back to my parents and grandparents who've given me so much. Another way in which UF will prepare me to live the Good Life is by providing me great memories and experiences that will last a lifetime while i'm in attendance.
The University of Florida will not prepare me for the Good Life as I'm already living it and will always live it. The University of Florida will instead prepare me for the Great Life by enriching my life and by also elevating me to a higher position in society to provide an even better life for my family.
