"For those who are lost, there will always be cities that feel like home," said Simon Van Booy. Thankfully, I had the chance to grow in a largely populated city the majority of my life. Since I have returned to America I have been living in the suburbs, hence to move to a college within a city such as Boston, where every sort of opportunity is within your reach as one of my aspirations. Boston University is also home to one of the most diverse schools in the country. Coming from a small city, Lowell, that is well known for its diversity, and the capital of Brazil, filled with people from all over the world, it is nearly crucial to keep such lifestyle going through my college years. Uniquely, one of my favorite things at Boston University is the school's miXx K-Pop Cover Dance Crew. As an admirer of the Korean culture, I was astonished to know that the university had such program, therefore, it is an interest of mine to audition to the group if possible. Consequently, besides its great academic programs, the university has influenced me to apply due to its highly recognized research program. I hope to observe and contribute to some of the most interesting projects that may have a significant impact not only to me but to the world, such as the Zika pandemic, raising significant and international concern, so forth that new global policies should be developed to decrease the spread of such disease.
