I love to explore what's around me, everything interests me very much. If I ever had the chance to go to school and graduate into another school, then another school, then another school, I would love to do that. As "foolish" as this may sound, I love to learn new and explore new things. From Forensic Science to the Theater, everything fascinates me. For the past year when people have asked me what I am going to do with my life after High School, I have said everything from becoming an actor to becoming a Pediatrician.
The College of Arts and Sciences' liberal arts curriculum is exactly what someone with an open mind (as me) desires. I will take the advantage of the broad course selection the College of Arts and Sciences has to offers. The Pre-Medicine advising in the College of Arts and Sciences particularly interests me because I'm fairly confident I want to pursue an occupation in Medicine, most likely a Pediatrician.
Looking back, I have realized that my love for Small Children in particular is unconditional. As Seventeen years old, anybody would expect me to hang out with friends and others of my age but it's the opposite for me. Whenever I get spare time from my busy schedule, I run to my baby brother to play with him
I have always enjoyed learning about human body, its function and structures in depth. I was always interested in the Medical Field, especially after taking Anatomy and Physiology class & Lab in particular.
Looking at parts of the body and discussing its functions, structure, advantages and disadvantages, etc... This made me more curious and interested in the Medical and Sciences Field even more.
I am taking AP Biology and AP Chemistry this year, in both classes I am learning so much about human, the chemistry of human body.
Through the College of Arts and Sciences I will be able to continue to feed my passion for learning by taking a variety of classes while still taking classes that will help me prepare for Medical school through the pre-Medicine Program. I would gain so much knowledge about different Medical professions through this wonderful opportunity of shadowing a Cornell alumnus.
Studying at the College of Arts and Sciences would give me the in depth knowledge I desire, and the discipline to prepare me for Medical school. I hope to someday be part of a Weill Cornell Medical Center or some other Hospital/ Academic environment, and I believe Cornell can help me achieve that dream in very orderly fashion with giving opportunity to explore other paths as well.
